This role is eligible for a $10,000 sign-on bonus, subject to the terms and conditions of the Company's sign-on bonus program.
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer / Project Administrator to lead Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) services on FDOT, LAP, county, and municipal transportation projects throughout Florida. The successful candidate will be responsible for project management, contract administration, construction oversight, quality assurance, client coordination, and mentoring CEI staff while serving as the primary point of contact between the owner, contractor, and project team. This position is ideal for an experienced transportation professional who can successfully lead CEI teams, manage client relationships, and deliver FDOT and local agency construction projects from notice-to-proceed through final acceptance.
Essential Responsibilities
Serve as the Senior CEI Project Engineer and Project Administrator on transportation construction projects.
Manage project delivery, schedules, budgets, documentation, and staff assignments.
Coordinate with FDOT, local agencies, municipalities, contractors, utility companies, and project stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with contract plans, specifications, permits, standards, and agency requirements.
Review and process pay applications, change orders, supplemental agreements, claims, RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings.
Lead progress meetings and prepare project correspondence and reports.
Oversee quality assurance and quality control activities performed by CEI staff.
Verify quantities, materials testing, contract compliance, and contractor performance.
Monitor project schedules and identify potential risks, delays, and constructability issues.
Provide leadership, mentoring, and technical guidance to inspectors and support staff.
Coordinate project closeout activities, final acceptance, and as-built documentation.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
Florida Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required or ability to obtain Florida P.E. licensure within six (6) months of hire.
Minimum 5+ years of FDOT and/or Florida CEI experience.
Experience serving in a CEI leadership role, such as Project Administrator, Assistant Project Administrator, Project Engineer, or Senior Inspector.
Thorough understanding of FDOT specifications, standards, procedures, and construction documentation requirements.
Strong leadership, communication, organization, and client management skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and staff simultaneously.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites throughout Florida.
Preferred Qualifications
FDOT Project Administrator experience.
FDOT CTQP certifications.
Experience with SiteManager, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office applications.
Experience managing roadway, bridge, drainage, utility, and transportation improvement projects.
Local agency and municipal CEI experience is highly preferred, particularly with Lee County, Collier County, Hendry County, Hardee County, City of Fort Myers, City of Cape Coral, and other Florida local governments.
Experience administering FDOT LAP-funded construction projects.
Established working relationships with FDOT District personnel and local agency clients.
