Location: Mami or Ft. Lauderdale

Position: Senior Project Engineer - Project Administrator

EAC is seeking an experienced CEI Project Engineer - Project Administrator with CEI expertise in Florida. This is an excellent opportunity to advance your career with our construction and program management teams.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

This role involves providing leadership and construction/engineering management support for transportation projects with FDOT and Tolling Agencies . The Project Engineer will oversee complex infrastructure initiatives, guide technical teams, and ensure full compliance with FDOT standards and regulations. Responsibilities include supervising project managers, driving project execution, and ensuring timely delivery within budget constraints. This position is responsible for a team of engineers and professional support staff.

Project Management

Implements the company's Project Management policies and procedures. This includes the preparation of a comprehensive Project Management Plan. Meets or exceeds clients' expectations and achieve high client grades.

- Management - deliver quality projects on-time and within budget
  • Identifies resources for each phase of the project, and arranges for recruitment, assignment of project personnel, or assignment of subconsultants to meet the needs of the project.
  • Develops scope of services and negotiates fees required for success.
  • Develops work plans for the delivery of quality projects within budget.
  • Directs and coordinates activities of project team (including subconsultants).


Coordination/Communication
  • Serves as a representative of firm at meetings, presentations, and public hearings/reviews relative.
  • Communicates effectively with the team and the client to coordinate the project and achieve results that meets the needs of the stakeholders.


Financial
  • Performs cost control to perform the work and maintain a positive variance.
  • Manages scope. Identifies additional services and works with the client to get additional fees.
  • Completes timely and accurate invoicing. Assists with collections when past due.


Technical
  • Certify the construction of projects where needed.
  • Responsible for the development of a sound technical approach that satisfies the scope and needs of the client.
  • Responsible for the quality of the product.


Business Development

Implements the Company's Business Development policies and procedures. This includes the preparation of a comprehensive Pursuit/Work Plan.
  • Maintains positive relationships with current and past clients.
  • Seeks potential opportunities to market firm's engineering services and strategizes best approach for the pursuit. Pursuit may be conventional, design build or Public Private Partnership.
  • Performs active marketing of projects including client meetings, proposal preparation and presentations.
  • Leads pursuits as a Pursuit Manager and works within the assigned BD budget to secure wins in line with assigned goals and goals of the Department.


EDUCATION/LICENSURE:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Florida


REQUIREMENT:

  • Valid Driver's license required.


CERTIFICATIONS:

Florida Department of Transportation's (FDOT's) Construction Training Qualification Program (CTQP) and other certifications required for the position
