Job Summary

The IT Category Manager is responsible for managing strategic sourcing, contract negotiations, vendor management, and procurement activities related to IT products and services within a healthcare environment. This role supports technology-related categories including cloud services, hardware, software, SaaS platforms, licensing, and professional services. The position focuses on developing sourcing strategies, improving operational efficiency, reducing costs, and supporting organizational technology initiatives through effective supply chain management and vendor partnerships.

The IT Category Manager works closely with internal stakeholders to analyze business needs, create sourcing strategies, manage RFP/RFI processes, negotiate contracts, and oversee supplier performance. The role also supports project coordination, reporting, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure successful execution of supply chain and IT procurement initiatives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manage end-to-end sourcing and contract management activities for IT-related categories.
  • Develop sourcing strategies that balance cost, quality, and operational outcomes.
  • Conduct market research, benchmarking, spend analysis, and supplier evaluations.
  • Create and manage RFP/RFI documents and procurement processes.
  • Lead vendor negotiations, contract development, and supplier relationship management.
  • Identify cost-saving and operational improvement opportunities.
  • Analyze business and technical requirements for procurement initiatives.
  • Support strategic and operational business activities through data analysis and reporting.
  • Prepare presentations and communicate sourcing initiatives to leadership teams.

  • Ensure compliance with organizational procedures, procurement standards, and project plans.

Minimum Requirements / Skills
