The Rapid Prototype Casting Lab (RPCL) at Pratt & Whitney develops the technology and processes to manufacture advanced castings for turbine engines. These castings are enabling materials that increase the temperature capability and improve the durability of jet engine components. Through successful development of these castings, P&W will deliver engines that are more fuel efficient, lighter weight, and more durable for commercial and military applications.
The RPCL is seeking an investment casting Quality Product Engineer to provide technical guidance in the inspection and qualification of advanced castings. You will partner with the appropriate product lead to ensure dimensional and metallurgical conformance of cast products. You will also develop advanced tooling and casting mold designs for the production of advanced commercial and military turbine engine components.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the RPCL in adherence to the P&W Quality Management System (QMS)
- Evaluate casting processes and hardware to determine compliance to applicable requirements
- Support day to day manufacturing activities such as review and approval of work instructions, development and release of inspection processes/techniques and review of qualitative quality data
- Manage part non-conformance process, including data analysis of non-conformances identified in NDT and dimensional inspections, coordinating resolution of QN's, and delivery of cast parts to customers
- Lead development of production processes, work instructions, and regulatory requirements for inspection of investment castings
- Support preparation efforts for internal/external quality audits
- Lead activities to increase the Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) for new parts and technologies
- Occasionally act as project lead for development, casting, and delivery of parts to customer specifications
Qualifications you must have- A University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience

Preferred Qualifications- Three years or more experience in a quality role performing quality engineering functions
- Six Sigma green belt or equivalent
- The ability to create positive relationships and craft clear communication
- Experience working with nickel alloys and single crystal casting process
- Experience with Pratt & Whitney's Quality Management Systems (QMS)
- Fluency in product and tooling electronic definition interpretation
- A demonstrated history of implementing, maintaining and monitoring tooling for cast/core products and designing/monitoring associated quality assurance/control measures
- Full proficiency in Computer-aided Design (CAD) systems such as NX
- Ability to effectively work in a laboratory environment with a diverse group of skilled hourly operators and professional engineering staff

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
