Job Summary:Methodist Healthcare System is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Thoracic Surgeon with specialized training and experience in Lung Transplantation to join our growing multidisciplinary transplant team in San Antonio, Texas.
This is an exceptional opportunity to help expand and further develop a comprehensive lung transplant program within one of the nation's leading healthcare systems. The successful candidate will work closely with pulmonologists, transplant physicians, advanced practice providers, intensivists, and a dedicated transplant support team to provide cutting-edge care for patients with advanced lung disease.

Responsibilities- Evaluate and manage patients with advanced lung disease requiring transplantation
- Perform lung transplant procedures and other complex thoracic surgical cases
- Provide comprehensive perioperative and postoperative patient care
- Participate in transplant selection committee meetings
- Collaborate closely with pulmonology, critical care, and transplant medicine colleagues
- Contribute to program growth, outreach efforts, and quality initiatives
- Share in call responsibilities with the cardiothoracic surgery team

Qualified Candidates- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Thoracic Surgery
- Fellowship training in cardiothoracic surgery required
- Specialized training and demonstrated experience in lung transplantation
- Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Texas
