Full Job Description
The Role
You will make sure Mecka's capture devices are ready to collect high-quality data wherever they're deployed. You'll own the technical readiness of deployed devices, diagnose problems across hardware and software, and carry issues through to verified resolution.
Scaling robot-learning data requires more than building great devices. It requires making them work reliably across operators, locations, and demanding real-world conditions. You'll turn hands-on troubleshooting into tools and procedures that let a growing fleet collect more useful data with less downtime. What You'll Do
Own device issues from the first report through diagnosis, repair or recovery, and verification that the device is ready for use.
Troubleshoot cameras, connected peripherals, Linux software, storage, networking, and data transfers using logs, measurements, and physical testing.
Prepare and validate devices for deployment, including configuration, software updates, recording checks, and inspection after return.
Support operators and partners with clear technical guidance. Reproduce product defects and work with engineering teams to resolve them.
Write scripts and troubleshooting procedures that make common problems faster to diagnose and resolve.
Track recurring failures, verify corrective actions, and improve readiness checks using evidence from the fleet.
What You Bring
Must-have:
3-4 years of hands-on experience troubleshooting physical devices that combine hardware and software, such as embedded systems, cameras, robotics, or connected equipment.
Practical Linux skills, including command-line tools, logs, processes, services, filesystems, and network diagnostics.
Python or shell scripting skills for diagnostics, device checks, and operational automation.
Ability to isolate faults through repeatable tests and distinguish hardware, software, configuration, and operator issues.
Experience validating device behavior after a repair, configuration change, or software update.
Clear communication with technical and nontechnical users, including useful reproduction steps, diagnostic evidence, and instructions.
Ability to prioritize issues by operational impact and follow them through to a verified outcome.
Experience diagnosing recording problems such as dropped frames, corrupted files, synchronization errors, or incomplete transfers.
Experience with electronics troubleshooting, component replacement, or repair qualification.
A Note on Applying
Studies show women and candidates from underrepresented groups often only apply when they meet 100% of the listed qualifications, while others apply after meeting 60%. If you don't check every box above but believe you can do the job, we encourage you to apply - we're looking for capability and trajectory, not a perfect checklist match.
