About the role:

The Buyer role is responsible for purchasing materials, goods, and services while supporting materials management through compliant, cost-effective, and timely procurement activities.

This role supports IAMGOLD's purpose by ensuring the reliable and responsible sourcing of materials essential to operations. Through sound procurement practices and supplier evaluation, the Buyer helps optimize cost, quality, and sustainability while supporting uninterrupted site performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute procurement activities to secure goods and services at optimal cost, quality, and delivery timelines, including RFQ processes and supplier negotiations.
  • Build strong supplier relationships while supporting internal stakeholders with problem-solving and responsive purchasing services.
  • Analyze purchase requests to determine best sourcing strategies, ensuring compliance with policies, standards, and strategic objectives.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier data, and documentation within procurement systems to support materials management.
  • Monitor vendor performance, pricing, and market alternatives to ensure cost control and continuous supply chain improvement.
  • Collaborate with supply chain teams and stakeholders to align purchasing activities with operational planning and requirements.
  • Support resolution of invoicing issues, routine inquiries, and contribute to special procurement projects as needed.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying efficiencies, adopting best practices, and contributing to innovative supply chain solutions.


Qualifications

Key Skills & Knowledge:

  • Post-secondary education in commerce, business administration or a related field is required.


Relevant Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience.
  • Previous experience with the preparation of requests for quotations and quotation analysis.
  • Previous experience with Oracle ERP system is an asset.

Salary Range: $89,000 - $133,500 + Bonus
