What we're looking for

The Business Systems Owner defines the vision and organizational roadmap of enterprise software systems and plays an advisory and supportive role for key business stakeholders. They have the necessary business acumen and the technical knowledge to recommend strategic direction on the use of enterprise systems and adoption of new features. They communicate directly with key business stakeholders as well as software developers to provide ongoing support and the best possible user experience.

This Business Systems Owner position is focused on Microsoft 365, Power Platform, Microsoft Copilot, and Copilot Studio. This role contributes to product vision, roadmap and governance practices for these platforms, supports secure and scalable implementations, and helps enable responsible adoption across the organization. Combining strong business acumen with hands-on technical expertise, the Business Systems Owner partners with stakeholders, administrators, developers, security and vendors to translate business needs into sustainable solutions, including enterprise Copilot agents, that improve productivity, collaboration and employee experience.

How you will make an impact

• Ensure the business system aligns with industry direction, standards, and best practices
• Want to keep this as a BSO role so they can take on other systems but main focus for this particular BSO is Microsoft and Copilot Agents.
• Coordinate platform-related activities and stakeholder communications for service incidents, security concerns and material changes, in accordance with established incident and escalation processes.
• Provide in-depth technical hands-on knowledge and experience for the business systems being managed
• Communicate technical concepts, risks and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Provide platform and technical leadership for end-to-end implementations, collaboration with Process Improvement Analysts and business stakeholders, from discovery and requirements through solution design, testing, deployment, adoption, support and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with other BSOs on enterprise system architecture and integrations to produce such artifacts as deployment view diagrams, technology stack diagrams, network and communication diagrams, application architecture diagrams and data model diagrams
• Collaborate with Process Improvement Analysts (PIAs) to ensure such artifacts as process flow diagrams, business use-case diagrams and solution concept diagrams are developed by PIAs and filed accordingly
• Provide technical support and system training to the business.
• Partner with Systems Administrators and Technical Support Analysts to implement system changes
• Develop and maintain platform vision, roadmap, proposed service standards and lifecycle plans for Microsoft 365, Power Platform, Microsoft Copilot and Copilot Studio, aligned with approved organizational priorities.
• Develop, maintain and apply approved governance standards for platform configuration, environments, data, connectors, applications, automation, Copilot agents, licensing and access.
• Design, build and manage the lifecycle of enterprise Copilot agents in Copilot Studio, including use cases, knowledge sources, actions, integrations, testing, publishing, and monitoring. Partner with privacy, security, legal, records management and accessibility stakeholders to ensure solutions comply with organizational policies, legislative requirements and responsible AI principles.
• Assess demand and recommend priorities for enhancements, automation opportunities and agent use cases based on business value, risk, effort and strategic alignment, working with Process Improvement Analysts and technical delivery teams to plan future changes.
• Partner with Process Improvement Analysts and business stakeholders to translate business needs into clear requirements and scalable solutions using Microsoft 365, Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse), Copilot and Copilot Studio, and validate that implemented solutions achieve the expected business outcomes.
• Provide hands-on technical expertise and leadership for configuration, prototyping, troubleshooting, integrations and release readiness, working closely with Systems Administrators, Technical Support Analysts, Software Developers and Infrastructure Specialists.
• Define success measures and use service health, adoption, usage, quality and risk data to monitor platform performance and improve business outcomes.
• Develop standards, reusable patterns, documentation and guardrails that enable safe self-service development and reduce duplication and technical debt.
• Plan and deliver change management, communications, training and adoption activities for new capabilities and significant platform changes.
• Coordinate operational vendor relationships, assess licensing considerations, product updates and release impacts, and work with Process Improvement
• Analysts to evaluate new capabilities, process impacts and recommended investments or changes.

What you will bring to TVO

• Undergraduate degree in information technology, computer science, business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
• 5-7 years of related experience
• Strong knowledge of enterprise software systems, including Microsoft 365 platforms, administration concepts, security, compliance, governance and best practices
• Hands-on experience with Power Platform, including Power
• Automate, Power BI, Dataverse, environment strategy, governance, connectors and data loss prevention policies.
• Demonstrated strong experience with Microsoft Copilot and Copilot Studio, including designing, building, testing, deploying and governing enterprise Copilot agents for enterprise wide usage
• Experience leading technology implementations through requirements, solution design, testing, deployment, change management, adoption and operational support.
• Understanding of responsible AI, privacy, security, records management, accessibility and risk considerations for enterprise cloud and AI solutions.
• Ability to evaluate business needs, prioritize a product backlog, and translate requirements into practical, supportable solutions.
• Experience with Microsoft Graph, APIs, Azure services, identity and access management, or enterprise integrations is an asset.
• Relevant Microsoft certifications in Microsoft 365, Power Platform, security or applied AI are an asset.
• Experience with issue tracking, service management and collaboration platforms; experience with Jira is preferred.
• Experience working in an agile environment, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews and retrospectives.
• Knowledge of BrowserStack is an asset
