Full Job Description
About the Team

AMD's Adaptive & Embedded Computing Group (AECG) delivers embedded processing, adaptive computing, and system solutions across a broad range of end markets. The AECG Business Management team is responsible for demand forecasting, business planning, and cross-functional coordination that connects Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, and Engineering to a single, accurate view of business performance across these markets.

Position Summary

AMD is seeking a Business Planning Manager to own end-market demand forecasting and business operations for a defined portfolio of x86 end markets within AECG, including Automotive, Aerospace & Defense, Industrial/Robotics/Healthcare, Test & Measurement, and Audio/Video/Broadcast. This is an individual-contributor role for a fully qualified, experienced professional who can independently manage complex, recurring forecast cycles, translate data into clear business insight, and partner effectively across functions, with work reviewed at critical milestones.

The Business Planning Manager will drive the monthly and quarterly forecast process for their assigned markets, ensure forecast accuracy and system integrity, and represent market performance, risks, and opportunities in cross-functional and leadership reviews. The role partners closely with a peer Business Manager who owns the Wired, Wireless, and Datacenter markets for the x86 products in AECG.

Key Responsibilities

Demand Forecasting & Planning
  • Own the end-to-end monthly and quarterly forecast cycle (near-term, mid-range, AOP forecasts) for assigned end markets, managing sequential forecast rounds against established deadlines.
  • Build, reconcile, and load market-level forecast data, including unit volume, ASP, revenue, and margin, into AMD's SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP) system, ensuring accuracy across several demand versions.
  • Maintain and update market-specific forecast models each cycle, ensuring timely, accurate submission ahead of published deadlines, applying business judgment to make forecast recommendations to leadership.
  • Own alignment between demand forecasts and supply requests for assigned markets, validating and approving supply request adjustments so that supply signals accurately reflect owned demand across the S&OP cycle, and proactively resolving demand-supply misalignment before it impacts quarter-end commitments.
  • Reconcile sell-in and sell-through data, unconstrained demand, and period-over-period variance as part of the forecast build process.
  • Own quarter-close bridges and prepare final market forecasts for leadership review and approval prior to distribution to Finance, Sales, and Operations.

Cross-Functional Business Operations
  • Represent assigned end-market performance, risks, and opportunities in weekly business reviews and quarterly operations reviews.
  • Partner with Sales to validate customer-level demand signals and incorporate them into market forecasts.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams on product-to-market alignment and roadmap integration for assigned markets.

Reporting, Analysis & Process Improvement
  • Prepare and deliver forecast presentations, dashboards, and variance analyses for business reviews and leadership readouts.
  • Monitor weekly and daily bookings to ensure alignment with revenue attainment and management reporting.
  • Identify and escalate forecast risks, demand/supply imbalances, and market trend shifts to leadership in a timely manner.
  • Apply AI tools - both team-built and self-developed - to improve forecast quality, process efficiency, and analytical output.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvement of forecast models, IBP processes, and cross-team data handoffs to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Partner with other Business Managers to maintain consistent forecast methodology and provide mutual process coverage.

Qualifications

Required
  • Proven experiences in business management, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), demand planning, or supply chain/business operations, ideally within the semiconductor, hardware, or technology industries.
  • Advanced Excel and BI reporting skills, with demonstrated ability to build, reconcile, and maintain complex, scalable forecast models.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to cross-functional and leadership audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines to a high degree of accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred
  • Experience with SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP) or comparable ERP/demand-planning systems.
  • Comfort applying AI-assisted analytics tools to improve forecasting quality and efficiency.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor x86/FPGA end markets such as Automotive, Aerospace & Defense, Industrial, Test & Measurement, or Audio/Video/Broadcast.
  • Experience supporting Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) or quarter-close processes.
  • Experience with Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Long Range Plan (LRP) cycles in addition to monthly forecasting.

This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
