Position Description: We're looking for a BI Lead to own the design, delivery, and evolution of our business intelligence and reporting capability. You'll take requirements and direction from stakeholders, then run with them independently, turning complex data into clear, trusted insight that drives decisions. This is a hands on leadership role for someone who is comfortable owning outcomes end to end and doesn't need close supervision to deliver.
This is an office based role in downtown Dallas, with the expectation of being on site 3 - 5 days per week to work closely with stakeholders and the wider team.
Your future duties and responsibilities: . Lead the design, development, and maintenance of Power BI dashboards, reports, and semantic models
. Translate business requirements and high level direction into well structured, scalable BI solutions with minimal oversight
. Write and optimize complex SQL for data extraction, transformation, and analysis
. Use Python to automate data processes, build transformations, and support advanced analysis
. Own data quality, accuracy, and consistency across reporting, and proactively resolve issues
. Work directly with senior stakeholders to understand needs, manage expectations, and present insights clearly to technical and non technical audiences
. Set BI standards and best practices for development, governance, documentation, and performance
. Mentor and guide other analysts or developers where applicable
. Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, reduce manual effort, and increase the value of data across the business
What Success Looks Like:
. Stakeholders trust the numbers and use your reports to make decisions
. Requirements go in, and quality solutions come out, with little need for chasing or direction
. BI delivery is faster, more consistent, and better documented
. Manual reporting effort is reduced through automation
Required qualifications to be successful in this role: . Proven experience in a BI Lead, Senior BI Developer, or equivalent role
. Strong, hands on expertise in Power BI (DAX, data modelling, Power Query, report design, and service administration)
. Advanced SQL skills, including query optimization and working with large datasets
. Proficiency in Python for data manipulation, automation, and analysis
. Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain complex data concepts simply and influence stakeholders
. A self starting mindset: you take ownership, make sound decisions independently, and deliver without needing hand holding
. Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail
. Ability to work on site in downtown Dallas 3 5 days per week
Desired Skills:
. Working knowledge of Azure (e.g. Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Azure SQL, Data Lake, or Databricks)
. Previous experience in telecommunications
. Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL/ELT pipelines
. Experience with data governance, security, and role based access in BI environments
