Job Summary:As a Business Intelligence Analyst specialized in Power BI, you will play a pivotal role in transforming healthcare data into actionable insights. Your primary responsibility will be to gather requirements, design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards that support strategic decision-making, operational efficiency, and healthcare quality improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities: - Work closely with diverse stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into automated reports and meaningful visualizations
- Develop interactive and user-friendly Power BI reports and dashboards tailored to healthcare needs
- Design, automate, and optimize data models to enable efficient data analysis
- Ensure data accuracy, quality, and consistency while maintaining compliance with healthcare data privacy laws (e.g. PHIPA, PIPEDA) and organization data governance policies
- Implement security measures to protect sensitive healthcare information
- Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting to ensure the reliability and usability of Power BI reports
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including analysts, clinicians, pharmacists, and accountants, to identify analytics challenges and deliver business insights to support data-driven decisions
- Work as a data subject matter expert and support end-users by providing training and assistance on Power Bi usage
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, Statistics or a related field
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Power BI report development and requirements gathering, preferably with healthcare data sources
- Strong proficiency in DAX, M, SQL, data modeling and visualization, ETL processes and Excel
- Excellent communication skills with a commitment to understanding and meeting the needs of business stakeholders
- Detail-oriented and resourceful with the ability to prioritize and multitask
- Familiarity with Canadian healthcare regulations and privacy laws
