The opportunityWe currently have an opportunity for a Business Development Specialist to join our Specialty Striior team based remotely in the United States. This job is responsible for driving profitable growth by developing new broker relationships and strengthening existing partnerships. This role focuses on expanding market presence, identifying new business opportunities, and collaborating with brokers to deliver solutions that meet client needs. By fostering strong relationships, providing responsive service, and maintaining a deep understanding of market trends, this individual will help the organization for sustained growth and long-term success. Some of the Business Development Specialist responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Maximizes opportunities for profitable new business growth and retention by forming business relationships, product knowledge and developing underwriting acumen.
- Provides information which is used to identify and define marketing opportunities for existing and potential markets.
- Be the primary contact at Striior for Intact's BDM team members.
- Willing to work with Underwriters to help support their marketing efforts and help strengthen their broker relationships.
- Travels to key producers/accounts and is visible in the marketplace.
- Analyzes trends, and recommends strategies that best position the business.
- Develops working relationships with producers to successfully promote achievement of mutual growth and profitability goals and to supply appropriate products and services. From a sales perspective, understands where Striior can make a difference based on coverage gaps and uses that information to help retain or obtain a customer. Works closely with and establishes strong business partnerships with other Striior departments, including underwriting, claims, actuary and risk control staff in an effort to better service producers and accounts.
- Provides project management support for various marketing initiatives.
- Assists in comparison of Business Unit marketing practices, potential changes, and weaknesses in marketing efforts.
- Developing expertise of underwriting guidelines and a broad knowledge of Striior's operations and products. Stays abreast of industry, territory and insurance trends. May participate in industry events and/or committees as a representative of Striior.
The expertise you bring- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
- Strong relationships with regional wholesale brokers.
- Ability to travel 75% of the year.
- 5-7 years of years of progressively complex, specialty lines insurance and marketing experience.
Our salary ranges are determined by many factors including location, role, experience and skillset of the candidate. The following ranges displayed reflect the target base salary for new hires; however, your recruiter will provide more specific compensation details during the hiring process. The typical base salary range for this position is: $103,000 - $145,000 based on the factors aforementioned. For candidates located in San Francisco, CA; Washington DC; our Massachusetts based offices and the New York City metro area, the base salary range is $130,000 - $152,000.
