Eurofins CDMO Alphora is seeking a highly motivated and commercially driven Business Development Executive, Drug Product to help expand our client portfolio and accelerate growth across our Drug Product services.

This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic sales professional with deep knowledge of the pharmaceutical CDMO landscape to identify new business opportunities, develop meaningful client relationships, and contribute directly to the success of a growing organization. We are looking for a results-driven self-starter with a strong hunter mentality and a proven ability to proactively identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities, building robust sales pipelines and converting prospects into long-term client partnerships.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Business Operations, you will be responsible for generating new business, managing client relationships, and partnering with internal teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences throughout the business development lifecycle.

What You'll Do

As the primary commercial representative for Drug Product services, you will focus on identifying opportunities, expanding customer relationships, and positioning Alphora as a trusted development and manufacturing partner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute strategic business development plans to generate new opportunities within the Drug Product market.
  • Build and maintain relationships with biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and emerging biopharma companies across North America.
  • Identify and qualify prospective opportunities through market research, industry intelligence, networking, conferences, and targeted outreach.
  • Lead client interactions, including introductory meetings, technical discussions, facility tours, and business reviews.
  • Collaborate with technical, project management, and operations teams to develop tailored solutions that address client requirements.
  • Coordinate proposal development and commercial quotations in partnership with subject matter experts.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements, including Confidential Disclosure Agreements (CDAs), Master Service Agreements (MSAs), and related contractual documents.
  • Manage the sales pipeline and maintain accurate opportunity tracking, forecasting, and customer records within the CRM system.
  • Support successful project onboarding by ensuring effective transfer of commercial and technical information to project teams.
  • Represent Alphora at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to promote company capabilities and increase market visibility.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive developments, and customer needs to identify emerging opportunities and inform business strategy.
  • Contribute to revenue growth objectives through effective territory management, account development, and opportunity conversion.

  • Knowledge of the North American and global CDMO market, including industry trends, competitive dynamics, and customer requirements.
  • Understanding of small molecule/API development and manufacturing services is considered a strong asset.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess customer needs and align solutions accordingly.
  • Self-motivated and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities simultaneously.
  • Collaborative team player who works effectively across technical, operational, and commercial functions.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, pipeline management, and sales forecasting tools.
  • Willingness to travel as required to support client meetings, industry events, and business development activities.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Minimum of 4 years of business development, sales, account management, or commercial experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or CDMO industry.
  • Demonstrated experience selling Drug Product development and manufacturing services.
  • Working knowledge of the product lifecycle from development through commercialization for oral solid dosage forms and/or sterile products.
  • Proven success managing complex sales cycles and advancing opportunities from prospecting through contract execution.
  • Experience developing and maintaining long-term customer relationships that contribute to sustained revenue growth.
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical development, manufacturing, regulatory environments, and GMP operations is preferred.


Additional Information

The starting annual base compensation for this position is $130,000 CAD. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package plus benefits, will be determined by a number of factors which include but are not limited to the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
