Your Opportunity

We are seeking a connected, commercially minded Mining-Focused Environmental Services Business Center Practice Leader (BCPL) to shape Stantec's next phase of mining growth in Ontario by deepening client partnerships, positioning integrated solutions, and building a high-performing environmental services team.

Reporting to the Regional Growth Leader - Ontario & Atlantic Canada, you'll help set the direction for Stantec's environmental mining practice in Ontario and bring that strategy to life through trusted client relationships, focused growth priorities, and strong collaboration across business lines. You'll connect clients with integrated environmental, engineering, and technical solutions while supporting teams in delivering work that is safe, high-quality, and responsive to the evolving needs of the mining sector. In this role, you will also partner with business leaders to advance market positioning, pursue strategic opportunities, and champion a culture of safety, quality, innovation, and accountability.

Your Key Responsibilities

Client Focus
  • Use your mining market experience and industry relationships to open doors, shape opportunities, and grow trusted client partnerships for Environmental Services
  • Lead strategic account planning for priority mining clients, working closely with account managers, project managers, and technical leaders to align client needs with Stantec's full capabilities
  • Build client relationship strategies that strengthen Stantec's positioning, improve client experience, and create repeat opportunities and expanded work
  • Lead and contribute to high-impact pursuits and campaigns that advance Stantec's mining presence across Ontario and nationally

Business Development and Collaboration
  • Set clear growth priorities for priority clients and pursuits, including opportunities to connect Environmental Services with engineering and other business lines
  • Shape winning pursuit strategies, bring discipline to Go/No-Go decisions, and help teams focus time and investment on opportunities with the greatest strategic value
  • Use pipeline insights and performance measures to guide commercial decisions, strengthen market positioning, and support sustainable revenue growth
  • Coach team members and business leaders in coordinated client outreach, account growth, and pursuit planning for the mining and resources market
  • Raise Stantec's visibility by sharing technical expertise, innovation, and integrated environmental services through meaningful client and industry engagement
  • Build a positive, collaborative culture across the Ontario Environmental Services business and work with other BCPLs to advance consistent growth, engagement, and accountability
  • Champion Stantec's Safer Together culture and lead health, safety, quality, and risk management performance
  • Mentor and inspire technical staff, support inclusive team development, and recruit key talent to build mining-related environmental services capacity
  • Advance innovation initiatives that strengthen technical differentiation, market competitiveness, and long-term value for clients

Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Recognized credibility in the Ontario mining market, with strong client relationships and a practical understanding of mining lifecycle opportunities, regulatory drivers, and environmental services needs
  • Technical depth in one or more environmental fields, such as environmental planning, permitting, ecology, waste management, hydrogeology, or related disciplines
  • A proven record of growing client relationships, leading strategic pursuits, and converting market opportunities into meaningful work
  • Ability to influence across business lines, build integrated teams, and connect clients with multidisciplinary solutions that support growth and project delivery excellence
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with strong commercial acumen and the confidence to set priorities, make disciplined investment decisions, and contribute to revenue growth
  • Leadership presence, communication skills, and mentoring experience to build engaged teams and support staff development in a consulting environment

Education and Experience

The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, hydrogeology, environmental planning, or a related field with a minimum of 15 years of related technical, leadership, financial management, business development, and consulting experience, with proven experience building client relationships in the mining sector.

Professional registration in good standing in your environmental field of expertise.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
