Full Job Description
mPower, Inc. is seeking a Budget Support Specialist that will provide comprehensive budget, financial, analytical, and administrative support to one of its customers. This position supports the day-to-day execution of budget operations by maintaining financial tracking tools, preparing reports, organizing financial data, supporting budget execution activities, and coordinating administrative processes that contribute to efficient financial management.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain budget tracking spreadsheets, financial databases, and budget execution reports.


  • Monitor commitments, obligations, expenditures, and funding activities.


  • Compile, reconcile, and validate financial data from federal financial systems and Government reports.


  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc budget reports, funding summaries, and financial documentation for Government review.


  • Track budget milestones, reporting deadlines, and fiscal year activities.


  • Maintain electronic financial records, SOPs, templates, and other program documentation.


  • Prepare correspondence, presentations, meeting materials, and other administrative deliverables.


  • Develop spreadsheets, dashboards, charts, and reports to support financial analysis and decision-making.


  • Perform quality assurance reviews, identify data discrepancies, and assist with historical trend analysis.


  • Support budget data calls, audits, financial reviews, and year-end budget execution activities.


  • Recommend process improvements to enhance financial operations, reporting, and workflow efficiency.


  • Perform additional budget, administrative, and analytical support duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics, or a related field. Equivalent combinations of education and directly related experience may be considered.


  • 1-3 years of professional experience supporting budget, finance, accounting, or administrative operations.


  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.


  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


  • Demonstrated ability to organize and maintain financial records with a high degree of accuracy.


  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting established deadlines.


  • Strong attention to detail and customer service skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting Federal budget or financial operations.


  • Familiarity with federal financial systems, policies, and budget processes.


  • Experience preparing financial reports, dashboards, and budget tracking tools.


  • Knowledge of Federal records management requirements.


  • Experience supporting audits, financial reviews, or fiscal year-end activities
