Make your mark in DistributionReporting to the Western Canada or Eastern Canada Broker & Market Leader ("BML"), the Broker Director's two primary responsibilities include: 1. directly managing, on a national basis the relationships with one or more of AIG's national broker partners in Canada; and 2. developing relationships with and assisting the BML in managing all brokers within their market, with a particular focus on a smaller set of Top Brokers. The Broker Director will be a key member of the national Distribution team, and will collaborate closely with their counterparts and BMLs across Canada to drive engagement and insights that yield outpaced growth with Top Brokers.
How you will create an impactTasked with driving the financial results and managing brokers within their market, the Broker Director, in collaboration with BMLs and the Head of Distribution, Canada, will create clear goals that are defined and designed to:
- Champion and promote the national broker ownership model and focus on Top Brokers as a growth driver for AIG
- Drive profitable growth and/or retention and expand desired mix of business within the market and with assigned national broker
- Ensure AIG is deriving insights, value and results out of consulting or data services purchased from brokers.
- Support AIG's efforts to execute goals locally which are consistent with national commitments to/from brokers.
- Leverage AIG platforms such as AIG 360, Salesforce and others to apply KPIs / measure success.
- Develop working knowledge of financial and performance metrics
- Develop and facilitate relationships with internal and external stakeholders, most notably fostering alignment with Underwriting to ensure AIG is best positioned to provide differentiated value that drives growth across all Product Lines.
- Work closely with both Distribution (other Broker Directors, Broker & Market leadership, Client Directors, Wholesale & Alternative Distribution) and Business Unit leaders to establish a comprehensive grasp of the portfolio, opportunities and target accounts with Top Brokers.
- With support of the Head of Distribution and BMLs, develop an understanding of non-standard broker compensation agreements for assigned national broker(s)
- Own the broker performance KPI framework for assigned national broker(s), and contribute to monthly and quarterly measurement reviews assessing the health of all Top Broker relationships
- Travel to assigned national broker(s) offices across Canada as needed, and to Top Broker offices within the market with appropriate level of Distribution leadership team to review results and adjust strategies/target where needed.
- Ensure a comprehensive understanding of all AIG products and services including targeted growth areas by Product in order to fully articulate to brokers everything that AIG has to offer
- Develop strategies and execution plans with the Broker & Market Leader and Product leadership
- Ensure alignment with broker agreements and strategies.
- Own the Target Account Program, and work with Distribution Analytics to:
- develop market and product level target account initiatives and relationship expansion.
- drive pipelining initiatives at the local level, and at the national level for assigned national broker(s)
- ensure monthly results and KPI reporting are distributed to the appropriate constituents (Broker & Market Leaders) and Product Leaders
- Use data to drive opportunities for alignment and profitable growth/retention strategies.
- Support execution of the North American Events Strategy, delivering broker/client events that are memorable and accretive to the AIG brand, in collaboration with the BML
- Host production meetings for assigned national brokers, and occasionally across all lines within their market to promote cross-selling
- Ensure a well-stocked inventory of promotional items appropriate for all levels of brokers and clients, within budget and with the approval of the BML
What you'll need to succeed- Strong sales background, negotiation skills and presentation skills required.
- A passion for innovating and leading change.
- Strong business acumen, process, project management and data orientation
- Ability to professionally and tactfully manage sensitive and confidential information.
- Possess relevant technical grounding and ability to understand and articulate product strategies and differentiators.
- 10 years' experience in broker and/or carrier relationship management, underwriting or commercial insurance broking is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrate adaptability, actively leaning into AIG's learn-it-all culture.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are required to communicate directly with senior leadership within AIG and the dedicated broker relationships.
Mobility- Travel to Canadian locations (~25%) and US locations (less than 5%)

The base salary range for this position is $88,000-$133,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan. Your actual compensation will be dependent on your skills, experience, and qualifications.
