The role is part of the In-Space Systems business unit, which is focused on addressing two of the most compelling challenges in spaceflight today: space infrastructure and increasing mobility on-orbit.

As part of a hardworking team of engineers, you'll own and drive development of a groundbreaking simulation testbed for our Blue Ring spacecraft program. Blue Ring is the "Swiss Army Knife of satellites" and can support a variety of missions in Earth orbit domains out to the cislunar region - including transporting and hosting payloads, refueling satellites, as well as performing data relay, storage and compute via our in-space edge compute capability.

In this role you'll build and manage the automated testing pipelines and virtual execution environments for the software-in-the-loop (SWIL) simulation and hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) testbed. You'll collaborate both with our internal integration and test team and external customers to support the smooth operation of testbeds that precisely reflect spacecraft operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Work with external customers and internal engineering teams to develop customer-specific testbed infrastructure solutions
  • Build and manage the automated testing pipelines, virtual execution environments that improves testbed velocity


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in developing software testbed infrastructure for innovative systems
  • Proficient in C / C++ development
  • Proficient with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerization
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, GitLab, or GitHub
  • Familiar with hardware emulation like Simics
  • Expertise in customizing continuous integration systems
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure tool
  • Solid grasp of IP networking
  • Strong understanding of the software development life cycle and testing methodologies
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
  • Proficient with DOORs Next Generation, SVN, Jenkins
  • Skilled in Python or similar scripting languages to enhance automation and efficiency
  • Exceptionally organized teammate with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum


Desired Qualifications:
  • Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance preferred
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of relevant experience developing software testbeds for innovative and large-scale engineering systems
  • Experience in developing simulations and models for aerospace testbeds
  • Experience developing software for a Hardware-in-the-Loop vehicle simulator
  • Familiarity with communication protocols such as UDP/TCP, I2C, UART, etc.
  • In-depth knowledge of real-time operating systems and embedded control systems, including APIs, interfaces, and device drivers
  • Strong debugging skills at the software-hardware interface
  • Solid grasp of IP networking
  • Competent in MATLAB and Simulink


Base Pay Range for:
WA applicants is $134,961.00 - $188,945.40
