A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Bid Construction Manager, you will serve as an individual contributor responsible for leading tender activities related to the construction, erection, and installation scope. In this role, you will define the site execution strategy, you will develop the constructability approach in close collaboration with the site team to ensure the proposed execution concept is practical, efficient, and aligned with project delivery requirements.

The main focus in North America market will be on FACTS technologies (Flexible AC Transmission Systems).

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop cost estimates, project schedule, define risk mitigation strategies and opportunities that position Siemens Energy to win and successfully deliver critical energy projects.

Our Grid Technologies Site Operations team supports some of the most complex transmission and grid stabilization projects in the industry, driving execution excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement across the business.

How You'll Make an Impact
  • Lead the full EC/Site scope within complex tenders, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with overall bid strategy.
  • Reviewing client specifications, evaluating site conditions and execution constraints.
  • Work closely with the site team to assess resources capabilities and capacity, ensuring that the proposed execution strategy is realistic, properly supported, and aligned with successful project implementation requirements.
  • Develop competitive and data-driven cost models that strengthen bid positioning and profitability.
  • Build preliminary execution timeline and work closely with planners to develop level-3 schedules that shape execution planning and drive realistic delivery timelines.
  • Identify construction-related risks that may impact site execution and develop appropriate mitigation plans to safeguard project progress, schedule adherence, and successful delivery
  • Review contractual and legal provisions that may impact site execution, construction progress, or overall project delivery timelines.
  • Work closely with the EHS team to define site-specific EHS requirements and identify associated health, safety, and environmental risks that may impact site execution.
  • Define and steer subcontracting approaches that optimize cost, quality, and partner performance.
  • Represent the erection and installation scope in key Quality Gates/LoA reviews, bid review meetings, while continuously improving tools, templates, and mentoring the growth of junior team members.


What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a strong equivalent technical background with 8+ years site construction, installation, commissioning, or project execution experience within power generation, transmission, substations, grid infrastructure, or related industrial projects. Those with more experience may be considered for a higher level or vice versa.
  • Proven experience leading bid development activities or execution planning efforts for large, complex projects.
  • Strong scheduling expertise utilizing Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project, with the ability to translate technical scope into executable project plans.
  • Solid commercial, contractual, and risk management knowledge with the ability to make informed business decisions during the bid phase.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across technical, commercial, and operational functions.
  • Willingness to relocate to the Raleigh, NC or Orlando, FL area if not currently residing near one of these locations (relocation assistance may be available).
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 20-30% as required.
