BAR MANAGER

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are searching for a Bar Manager for a Forbes luxury hotel in Boston, Massachusetts. This is a senior F&B leadership role for a passionate hospitality professional with deep expertise in wine, spirits, and bar operations. The right candidate brings strong leadership skills, an eye for detail, and a genuine commitment to delivering an attentive and distinctive guest experience.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Lead, train, coach, and develop the bar team, including supervisors and assistant managers, ensuring service and cultural standards are consistently met
  • Maintain a visible, guest-facing presence on the floor, building relationships with regular guests and handling complaints, concerns, and special requests with professionalism
  • Bring expert knowledge of wine and spirits to the operation, ensuring quality across all beverage items and preparation methods
  • Ensure full compliance with all local, state, and federal laws relating to alcohol service and consumption
  • Collaborate with the Director of F&B and culinary team on menu and wine list development
  • Control labour and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing, and inventory management
  • Monitor the physical condition of the outlet and equipment, making recommendations for improvements as needed
  • Attend operational meetings to ensure strong coordination and communication across departments


WHAT YOU BRING
  • 1 to 2 years of experience as a department head, or 2 to 3 years as an assistant manager in a luxury hotel F&B; environment
  • Strong knowledge of beverage service, wine, spirits, cost control, labour management, and bar operations
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team in a high-standards luxury environment
  • Experience with F&B, computer systems, and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • College degree in hospitality, restaurant management, or equivalent experience preferred
