Full Job Description
The Vice President for the U.S. Federal Government Sector will be responsible for originating new business, developing client relationships and delivering the best ideas, products and services to federal agencies, working in partnership with the Public Sector Banking Parent Account Manager (PAM) for the Federal Government and the broader leadership team. The Vice President will actively develop and call on contacts across priority Federal Agencies aligned to commercial opportunities and to the Federal Government growth strategy. The goal of this position is to drive sustainable revenue growth and the highest degree of client satisfaction by delivering the best of Citi's global platform across Banking, Markets, and Services while efficiently deploying the Bank's capital and effectively managing risk.

Responsibilities:
  • Originate new business and identify cross-sell opportunities in partnership with the Federal Government Parent Account Manager (PAMs) by anticipating client needs
  • Bring new and innovative ideas to Federal Agencies working in concert with the Federal Government Parent Account Manager (PAM) that reflect government priorities and policies
  • Contribute to sales presentations, proposals, content/thought leadership, and client meeting follow up
  • Develop mastery across entire product suite to identify opportunities
  • Lead and manage key aspects and contacts within Federal Government client relationships or prospects
  • Manage existing Federal Government contract requirements, in close coordination with product owners
  • Anticipate, prioritize and execute client needs across Banking, Services and Markets to deliver high degree of trust and client satisfaction
  • Exceed or meet revenue growth and revenue recognition goals identified by the Federal Government Parent Account Manager (PAM) documented during annual goal setting period
  • Develop rapport with ICM to ensure coordinated "First Line of Defense" approach when engaging with Risk partners and develop working relationships with Independent Compliance Risk Management (Sanctions & AML) and Legal to ensure unique aspects of our clients are considered and reflected in how we do business
  • Develop deep knowledge of each client to advocate for clients' bespoke needs within the Citi network
  • Become expert in navigating Citi processes with a Public Sector lens and approach new processes by looking at them from a public sector angle to ensure the unique needs of our sector are incorporated
  • Contribute to Citi Public Sector events and initiatives including working in an advisory capacity with other PAM teams and supporting Public Sector seniors with client facing materials
  • Proactively train and mentor junior staff in an apprenticeship environment
  • Travel to client meetings within budget, to secure new business and enhance overall client satisfaction


Qualifications:
  • 6 to 10 years of banking and/or Federal Government sales and contracting experience preferred
  • Series 79 and 63 required within 90 days of accepting the job
  • Citi Credit College within 12 months of accepting the job
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, corporate finance, cash management and payments


Education:
  • Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred
  • Self-starter that must be able to succeed in high pressure environment while maintaining strong execution skills and delivering high quality results on-time
  • Thrive in a results-oriented team environment that operates as meritocracy
  • Problem solving skills, intellectual curiosity, confidence/judgment in ambiguous situations
  • Become fluent in macroeconomic trends and relevant industry and product information to differentiate advice and services from our competitors
  • Strong verbal, written, analytical, banking, negotiation, technical and systems skills
  • High degree of emotional intelligence
  • Demonstrated interest in geopolitics and passion for Federal Government and Public Sector
  • Promote culture of innovation and habitually looks for ways to improve internal processes, develop best practices and willingness to take on challenges outside of job description and comfort zone
