Full Job Description
As a Delivery Manager at Deloitte Consulting, you will oversee the technical delivery of an enterprise Azure managed services engagement for a US financial services client, lead cross-functional and global teams and mentor junior members. You will own the day-to-day service relationship, drive SLA and compliance performance, and support estimation, planning and change orders to ensure successful outcomes.
Work you'll do
We are looking for a Delivery Manager to own the delivery of a three-year Azure managed services engagement. You will be the accountable point of contact for the client, leading the teams that Migrate, transition, operate and secure a mix of Azure workloads, including compute and operating systems, containers, serverless services, backup and disaster recovery, patching, vulnerability and security monitoring, and cost optimization
As a Delivery Manager, you will be the onshore Service Delivery Manager for a multi-year Azure managed services contract covering a mix of IaaS (several hundred virtual machines across production, non-production and disaster recovery) and PaaS/serverless services. You will lead Level 2 and Level 3 operations teams across onshore and offshore Delivery centres, run service governance with the client, and ensure the Migrate, Transition and Operate phases are delivered against contractual SLAs, security standards and cost commitments.
Service Delivery & Contract Governance
Own end-to-end delivery across Plan & Define, Transition, and Operate (including the 90-day stabilization period), and maintain the Service Delivery Plan (SDP) as a living document.
Deliver against contractual SLAs - incident response/resolution, VM availability, and DR RTO/RPO - reporting monthly and running governance forums (service reviews, optimization reviews, steering committee).
Control scope and commercials: flag out-of-scope requests, raise change orders, and act as the escalation point for Priority 1 incidents.
Azure IaaS & PaaS Operations Oversight
Oversee Level 2/3 support for Azure IaaS (VMs, networking, storage, firewalls/WAF, load balancing) and PaaS/serverless services, including the shared-responsibility boundary with Microsoft.
Ensure golden, CIS-hardened images and IaC templates are maintained and used for all deployments, and oversee CI/CD, key/secrets management, and tagging standards.
Coordinate with Microsoft support and the client on CSP-side incidents and platform maintenance.
Incident, Problem & Change Management
Run ITIL-aligned incident, problem, and change management through ServiceNow - including the bidirectional eBonding integration - ensuring SLA-compliant prioritization (P1-P4) and root cause analysis for every P1.
Govern change requests (standard/normal/emergency) including CAB approvals, and maintain clear hand-offs across client Level 0/1, Deloitte Level 2/3, and third parties.
Security, Compliance & Risk
Ensure operational security controls are effective - IAM (SSO/MFA/PAM), credential rotation, and annual access reviews.
Oversee vulnerability management (daily scanning, risk prioritization, monthly reporting), SIEM/log monitoring, and security incident response.
Oversee cloud security posture management and compliance against NIST/CIS/CSA baselines, and support client audits and control requests.
Backup, Disaster Recovery & Patching
Oversee backup/restore policies across block, object, file, and PaaS data; plan and oversee the annual DR fail-over/fail-back test, reporting measured RPO/RTO.
Oversee the monthly OS patching cycle and CSP platform maintenance, communicating schedule and impacting the client.
Transition, Automation & Observability
Lead transition into managed services - design workshops, solution documentation, tool deployment, and knowledge transfer to steady-state operations.
Ensure monitoring/alerting/log management are configured to agreed thresholds, drive automation and continuous improvement (tracking MTTR and incident volume), and maintain client-facing reporting.
FinOps & Financial Management
Define budget thresholds and track alerts; oversee the quarterly cloud optimization analysis and reservation/savings-plan reviews.
Own delivery P&L inputs (utilization, productivity, revenue leakage) and partner with account leadership on renewals and extensions.
People & Team Leadership
Lead, mentor, and coach technical leads and engineers across onshore and offshore Global Cloud Operations centers, including 24x7 on-call coverage for Priority 1 incidents.
Manage capacity planning, staffing, and on-call models, and support career development, certification paths, and promotion readiness.
