Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Azure APIM Integration Analyst / Lead Developer SME to design, develop, deploy, and manage enterprise-scale APIs and integration solutions using Microsoft Azure services. The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of overall IT experience, including 5+ years of application integration and API development experience and 3+ years of hands-on experience with Azure API Management (APIM). This role requires strong expertise in Azure Integration Services, API security, API lifecycle management, event-driven integration, and enterprise architecture. The consultant will collaborate with application, cloud, and security teams to deliver secure, scalable, reliable, and compliant integration solutions while supporting production operations, troubleshooting, and continuous service improvement.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, test, and deploy RESTful APIs using Azure services.
• Implement, configure, and manage APIs through Azure API Management (APIM).
• Develop integrations using Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus, Event Grid, and Event Hubs.
• Configure APIM policies for security, rate limiting, caching, routing, and other API management requirements.
• Manage API lifecycle activities, including versioning, products, subscriptions, and developer portal publishing.
• Implement API security using OAuth 2.0, JSON Web Tokens (JWT), Azure Active Directory (Azure AD)/Microsoft Entra ID, and subscription keys.
• Automate API deployments using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform.
• Monitor and troubleshoot APIs using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics.
• Collaborate with application, cloud, and security teams to define and implement integration solutions.
• Ensure API governance, performance, reliability, and compliance with enterprise standards.
• Support production incidents, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement continuous service improvements.
• Document API designs, integration patterns, technical decisions, and operational procedures.
• Apply API-led architecture, event-driven integration, microservices architecture, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Ensure effective API versioning, lifecycle management, and alignment with enterprise integration standards.
Required Qualifications
• 15+ years of overall IT experience.
• 5+ years of application integration and API development experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Azure API Management (APIM).
• Experience implementing and supporting enterprise-scale API platforms.
• Strong experience with Azure Integration Services.
• Hands-on experience with REST APIs and OpenAPI/Swagger specifications.
• Experience with Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Service Bus, and Azure Event Grid or Event Hubs.
• Knowledge of Azure AD/Microsoft Entra ID, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and JWT.
• Experience working with JSON, XML, and XSLT.
• Proficiency in C#/.NET Core or Node.js.
• Experience with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions for CI/CD automation.
• Experience with ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform for Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience with Application Insights, Azure Monitor, and Log Analytics.
• Strong understanding of API-led architecture, event-driven integration, microservices, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Experience with API versioning, lifecycle management, DevOps, CI/CD, and infrastructure automation.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
