Product Owner / Business Analyst – Data Analysis and Migration Execution

Location: Brooklyn/NY, Jersey City/NJ, Newark/DE, Plano/TX

 

About the Role

We’re seeking a hands-on Product Owner/Business Analyst to help lead a high-impact migration initiative from upfront planning through end-to-end execution. In this role, you’ll partner closely with business, operations, data, and technology teams to ensure migrations are clearly scoped, thoughtfully sequenced, well-controlled, and successfully delivered. The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable with data, and adept at translating complex needs into clear, actionable requirements while keeping multiple teams aligned on priorities, timelines, risks, and dependencies. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives on solving complex problems, building structure, and turning business objectives into practical delivery plans that drive measurable outcomes.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Ownership: Own product from ideation to delivery - Define scope, priorities, milestones, and expected outcomes. Manage and refine product backlogs to align with business goals and user needs. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, document, and clarify business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria. Contribute to discovery, research, planning, refinement, and implementation. Work closely with program management and technology teams to support the successful delivery and communications of product initiatives. Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) efforts by coordinating activities, documenting results, and helping track issue resolution. 

  • Process design and improvement: Drive migration timelines, tracking, controls and reporting.

  • Technical requirements: Work with subject matter experts and technology to define system rules, coding and inputs, and reporting needs. Monitor key metrics, dependencies, issues, and decisions that could impact delivery.

  • Support readiness: Contribute to test plan creation, runbooks, training materials, and production rollouts.

  • Communications: provide simple, concise updates to stakeholders, leadership, and delivery teams.

     

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar delivery role. 
  • Experience writing business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flows.
  • Comfort and strong attention to details working with large datasets, identifying issues, and potential paths forward.

  • Experience working across business, operations, product, data, and technology teams.

  • Ability to understand and discuss technical topics such as system changes, data flows, dependencies, and impacts. And the ability to work with that complex information to turn form a clear action plan.

  • Good communication skills and ability to explain complex topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Experience working with large datasets and data migrations

  • Knowledge of wealth management, investment platforms, advisor workflows

  • Proficient using Alteryx, SQL, Tableau, or AI-assisted analyses is highly preferred but not required if willing to learn.
