Overview

Lead Revenue. Maximize Financial Performance.

 

We are seeking an Associate Vice President of Revenue Cycle to oversee and optimize billing operations for our Hospice division. Reporting to the Vice President of Revenue Cycle, this strategic leader drives policies, manages staff, and ensures timely and accurate claim submissions while maximizing collections. You will partner with finance, operations, and other departments to streamline workflows, enhance revenue cycle efficiency, and support organizational financial goals.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the division’s revenue cycle, including authorizations, billing, and collections

  • Direct billing management and staff to ensure accurate claim submission and timely collections across Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, commercial insurance, and direct patient pay

  • Monitor open accounts receivable balances, bad debt, and AR days outstanding to maximize cash collections

  • Develop, implement, and enforce billing policies and procedures while ensuring staff adherence

  • Prepare detailed analyses and reports on billing and accounts receivable performance

  • Ensure month-end closing accuracy for billing and financial reporting

  • Act as liaison between the billing department and other finance and operational teams

  • Enhance and standardize revenue cycle workflows to drive efficiency and effectiveness

  • Manage field operations’ problem escalations and maintain high levels of customer service

  • Mentor, coach, and conduct performance reviews for direct reports

  • Maintain all billing and financial data, including code tables, rate schedules, and payer information

  • Oversee outreach billing operations, including staffing, training, development, and monitoring

  • Ensure consistent quality and productivity across the billing team

  • Participate in special programs or initiatives as needed

  • Travel approximately 10–20%

About You

Qualifications – What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred

  • 5–6 years of medical reimbursement experience with progressive supervisory management in a healthcare environment

  • Strong leadership skills with ability to prioritize, plan, and direct departmental operations

  • Knowledge of medical necessity rules and procedures impacting insurance reimbursement

  • Well-versed in federal, state, and HIPAA privacy regulations

  • Proven track record of improving process efficiencies and solving complex problems

  • Strategic planning and priority-setting experience for a billing department in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience using integrated systems such as HomeCare HomeBase

  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and professional discretion

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required):

  • CPA license
