Job Description:

1. Reserving process & platform modernization

  • Help lead the transition of the reserving process from Excel to a Python-based platform — building reproducible, auditable reserving pipelines
  • Support monthly, quarterly and year-end reserve analysis across MST entities, including selection of development methods appropriate to program maturity and data credibility
  • Contribute to Statement of Actuarial Opinion (SAO) deliverables and the supporting actuarial report, coordinating with the appointed actuary Perform actuarial analysis and make reserve selections and recommendations
  • Peer-review reserve analyses prepared by other actuarial staff

2. Renewal due diligence framework

  • Serve as senior contact with Operations and other groups to further enhance the renewal process so it can be applied consistently across the program portfolio
  • Build the framework end-to-end — scope, structure, calculations, documentation — and drive adoption across the team
  • Partner with pricing and program stakeholders to embed the framework into the renewal cycle
  • Monitor rate change and opine on rate adequacy, partnering with underwriting to inform renewal decisions

3. Portfolio management & analysis

  • Monitor portfolio performance versus expectations across the MGA book and surface emerging trends
  • Lead projects independently end-to-end with minimal supervision
  • Develop and enforce documentation standards so analysis is consistent, reproducible, and auditable across the team
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to actuarial staff

Ideal candidate profile

Must have:

  • 10+ years of P&C actuarial experience
  • Career ACAS or FCAS designation
  • Direct programs / MGA / delegated authority experience
  • Strong reserving background, including familiarity with SAO obligations and ASOP compliance
  • Familiarity with SAP and IFRS requirements
  • Working proficiency in Python for reserving workflows, and strong Excel skills
  • Demonstrated ability to run projects independently end-to-end
  • Strong understanding of P&C reserving and pricing fundamentals

Preferred:

  • Experience modernizing reserving processes from spreadsheets to code
  • Reinsurance & ceded reserving knowledge
  • Familiarity with the chainladder Python package or comparable reserving automation tools
  • SQL and Git / GitHub familiarity
  • Exposure to fronting carrier structures
  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field

Additional job description-Salary: The base range is $130 - 220k. Salary determination are based on various factors, including but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.
