JOB SUMMARY
  • GMRE is currently recruiting for an Avionics Aircraft Technician. This position is day shift and may be eligible for per-diem based on GSA.gov standards. Position is contingent based on contract award.
  • The Avionics Aircraft Technician will perform maintenance and must possess knowledge of the electronic principles involved in a number of applications such as radar, data processing, navigation and data display.
  • Interprets and advises on maintenance procedures and policies to repair aircraft and related equipment.
  • Must have the ability to recommend methods to improve equipment performance and maintenance.

Requirements

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Must be knowledgeable of electrical, electronic, and mechanical principles relating to electrical systems, concepts, and application of maintenance directives.
  • Ability to interpret the meaning of symbols used in wiring diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Must have the ability to properly handle, use, and dispose of hazardous waste and materials.
  • Possess the skill to remove and replace F-16 aircraft parts and accessories/components.
  • Have the skill to make adjustments and settings according to established Technical Data Specifications.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of six (6) years total and two (2) years recent (within 4 years of task order PoP start) experience in aircraft maintenance support on F-16 aircraft as an avionics technician in order to accomplish required follow-on operations.
  • Must have experience working with aircraft wiring, technicians will be installing Avionics system modifications by routing, terminating 10/100 and Gig Ethernet wiring, copper wires, primary power wires, Coaxial wires , shielded twisted pairs/triplets, and possibly triaxial wires/connectors.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Must have ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. SECRET clearance and be subject to a government security investigation.
  • Driving or renting a car for company business is expected with some frequency. For insurance purposes, a valid driver's license is required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Normal color vision as defined by GMRE, with a passing score of 75% or greater.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

TRAVEL REQUIRED
  • Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position for meetings, trainings, and/or site visits.


Salary Description

$39.50 - $42.50
