Description

This position is for MH Engineered Solutions, a division of MH Equipment Logistics.

Job Summary: This position designs, integrates, commissions, and optimizes automated material handling solutions utilizing OTTO Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), conveyor systems, storage solutions, robotics, and warehouse software. This position leads projects from concept through commissioning and long-term optimization while working closely with Sales, Engineering, Project Management, Controls, IT, and Customer Operations.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Design integrated material handling systems including AMRs, conveyors, AS/RS, mezzanines, workstations, robotics, and storage systems.
  • Analyze customer operations, material flow, throughput, and capacity.
  • Develop CAD layouts, equipment specifications, and functional designs.
  • Integrate AMR Fleet Manager with PLCs, WMS/WES, MES, ERP, conveyors, and third-party automation.
  • Lead commissioning, FAT/SAT, startup support, optimization, and customer training.
  • Prepare technical documentation and support proposals and project execution.
  • Participate in supplier partner's training and development programs.
  • Support other MH Equipment engineering functions as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years in material handling systems, industrial automation, or systems integration.
  • Experience with PLCs, industrial networking, Machine Programming, Python, C++, UBUNTU Linux, Ignition, OPC/UA, CAD, and customer-facing engineering.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision; High degree of accountability and responsibility.
  • Good judgment regarding Safety on a job-site.
  • Excellent problem solving, judgment making, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle several tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient computer skills with 3D architecture, solid modeling, BIM modeling, and simulation software, AutoCAD, a plus, Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Projects; CRM, and web searches.
  • Ability to learn Supplier Business Partner (SBP) software.
  • Ability to work in industrial environments and meet the conditions listed below "Physical Requirements of An Automation Systems Engineer".

Working Conditions: Work hours are flexible and may exceed a 40-hour work week as project needs require. Overnight travel and weekend work as needed. Site work on job-site locations to include existing operations and new construction sites. The Medina, Ohio office location is the Automation System Engineer's primary office location. The candidate must have a reliable car to use for travel. This is a salaried position with an incentive program and is exempt from paid overtime. Some travel is required based on project cycles, up to 30 to 40%.
