- Identify customer automation needs and sales opportunities through various sales channels.
- Develop a solid understanding of DMG MORI automation products and create conceptual solutions.
- Gather customer requirements and prepare automation concepts, layouts, and recommended solutions.
- Work with Automation Pre-Sales Engineers to prepare quotations, project schedules, runoff criteria, and proposals.
- Partner with Area Sales Managers (ASMs) to present automation solutions to customers.
- Work closely with assigned Project Engineers to ensure a smooth handoff after an order is received.
- Attend trade shows and industry events to promote DMG MORI automation capabilities.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining good communication with management.
- Manage and grow automation business within the assigned territory and existing customer base.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
- Experience in technical sales for manufacturing automation solutions.
- Proficiency with 3D modeling software for automation cell concept and layout design.
- Familiarity with CNC machine tools, industrial robots, vision systems, and other automation components.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including customer presentations and proposal preparation.
- Good project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new automation technologies.
- Experience with CNC machines tending automation is a plus.
- Knowledge of ANSI/RIA robotic safety standards is a plus.
Work Environment:General office environment will be experienced. Occasionally will spend time in various manufacturing environments. Exposure to possible hazards including noise, electricity, chemicals, heavy equipment, and other automated and manual machinery.
Physical Demands:Frequent: walking, bending, stooping, and lifting. Periodic: sitting at desk, utilizing computers and phones.
Occasional: travel, lifting or moving up to 50lbs, operating power equipment.
