Full Job Description
The Automation Controls Engineer will design, program, install, modify, and repair all aspects of electrical control systems, equipment, and machinery in a manufacturing environment.

You will have the opportunity to:
  • Develop electrical and controls system design solutions based on engineering principles.
  • Generate electrical schematics and documentation necessary to install and troubleshoot control system and interface it to other system components.
  • Perform PLC/HMI/Automation Controller programming with emphasis on program reliability, safety and ease of updated troubleshooting documentation.
  • Define scope documents for new and existing equipment from external providers. Establish product acceptance criteria.
  • Analyze project requirements and perform technical calculations supporting design including electrical requirements.
  • Work with SCADA and MES vendors and internal IT team to develop and maintain robust data acquisition and management solutions to support plant operations.
  • Work with equipment engineers, process engineers, plant maintenance and operations teams to drive improvements in machine reliability, product quality and process yield.

Education and Experience Required:
  • B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering or demonstrated required capability as an Automation Technician for 5 years.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.


Preferred:
  • Knowledge of Inductive Automation / Ignition programming.
  • Experience in PLC programming.
  • Knowledge of statistical process control, asset utilization/OEE.


The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).

The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to U.S. controlled technology (via a letter of assurance), or a Person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction.
