We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Audiologist to join our Occupational Health and Employee Wellness team. The Audiologist will provide comprehensive hearing assessments, hearing conservation services, and personalized treatment recommendations to employees working across our agricultural and production operations.
Job Summary The Audiologist will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and managing hearing and balance-related conditions. The successful candidate will conduct comprehensive audiological assessments, recommend appropriate hearing solutions, and educate employees on hearing protection and prevention of occupational hearing loss.
This role will work closely with occupational health professionals, physicians, safety teams, and other healthcare providers to identify workplace noise risks and promote effective hearing conservation practices. The Audiologist will also assist employees who require hearing aids or assistive listening devices to improve their communication, safety, and overall quality of life.
Key Responsibilities - Conduct comprehensive audiological evaluations, including pure-tone audiometry, speech audiometry, and impedance testing.
- Assess and diagnose hearing loss and other auditory conditions.
- Perform hearing screenings and occupational hearing assessments for employees exposed to workplace noise.
- Develop individualized treatment and hearing rehabilitation plans based on patient needs.
- Recommend, fit, program, and adjust hearing aids and assistive listening devices.
- Counsel patients on hearing loss, communication strategies, and the proper use and maintenance of hearing devices.
- Monitor patient progress through follow-up evaluations and adjust treatment plans when necessary.
- Collaborate with physicians, occupational health professionals, and other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care.
- Work with workplace safety teams to identify noise-related hazards in agricultural, processing, and production environments.
- Support the development and implementation of occupational hearing conservation programs.
- Educate employees on hearing protection, proper use of personal protective equipment, and prevention of noise-induced hearing loss.
- Participate in employee health screenings, wellness programs, and workplace safety initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, audiological test results, treatment plans, hearing aid information, and follow-up documentation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable occupational health, safety, patient confidentiality, and professional standards.
- Stay current with advances in audiology, hearing aid technology, diagnostic equipment, and occupational hearing conservation practices.
Qualifications - Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) degree or equivalent graduate degree in Audiology from an accredited institution.
- Current and unrestricted state license to practice as an Audiologist.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a clinical, occupational health, or healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of audiological testing, including pure-tone, speech, and impedance testing.
- Experience with hearing aid selection, fitting, programming, and patient counseling.
- Knowledge of assistive listening devices and hearing rehabilitation techniques.
- Familiarity with occupational health and hearing conservation principles.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient education skills.
- Strong analytical, clinical judgment, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Proficiency in maintaining accurate clinical documentation and electronic patient records.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience working in occupational health, industrial healthcare, or employee wellness environments.
- Knowledge of occupational noise exposure and hearing conservation programs.
- Familiarity with OSHA or applicable occupational hearing protection and workplace safety requirements.
- Experience conducting employee hearing screenings and baseline or periodic audiometric testing.
- Experience working with individuals exposed to agricultural equipment, heavy machinery, processing equipment, or other high-noise environments.
- Familiarity with agricultural or industrial operations is a plus.
Working Conditions The Audiologist will primarily work in a clinical or occupational health setting located at [Company Headquarters or Production Facility].
