Piper Companies is seeking an Audio Visual Lead Technician to join a growing technology integration organization for an onsite, permanent position based out of Chandler, AZ. The Audio Visual Lead Technician will serve as the primary field leader for audiovisual installation projects, overseeing technical teams, coordinating project execution, and ensuring AV systems are successfully deployed, tested, and delivered to clients with the highest standards of quality and professionalism.
Responsibilities for the Audio Visual Lead Technician include:
• Lead audiovisual installation projects from equipment mounting and cabling through system configuration, testing, and final commissioning.
• Supervise field technicians and subcontractors, providing direction, mentorship, and quality oversight throughout project execution.
• Interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and construction documents to ensure installations align with project specifications.
• Troubleshoot AV, control, and network-related issues while maintaining project schedules and minimizing downtime.
• Track project progress, maintain documentation, and communicate effectively with clients, project stakeholders, and internal teams.
Qualifications for the Audio Visual Lead Technician include:
• 3+ years of experience leading commercial audiovisual installation or integration projects.
• Strong knowledge of AV technologies, signal routing, video displays, projectors, control systems, rack builds, and structured cabling.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, riser diagrams, and system schematics.
• Experience with AV testing equipment, installation tools, and basic IP networking concepts.
• OSHA 30 certification required; CTS, Crestron, Extron, Biamp, Poly, or similar industry certifications preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and project tracking platforms.
• High school diploma or GED required.
Compensation for the Audio Visual Lead Technician:
Salary Range: $75,000-$90,000/year
