Full Job Description
RSM is looking for a Supervisor to join our Private Client Services team. You will have the opportunity to work as a team member on diverse client engagements as part of our national practice. Our clients include local, national and internationally recognized companies. RSM's assurance professionals helping companies improve their performance through the most challenging business cycles.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead the team through the entire process, preparing all necessary financial statements and related disclosures and reportable conditions letters, with an eye on quality, thoroughness and accuracy
  • Provide timely, high quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectations including coordinating of audits, review engagements and compilations of financial statements, related disclosures, and other client deliverables (including corporate income tax, personal income tax and trust income tax).
  • Develop an understanding of the client's business and needs
  • Understand and utilize RSM's review, compilation, and audit methodology
  • Collaborate with the engagement manager/senior manager on engagement approach and execute on the plan using a risk-based approach
  • Recognize industry-specific and general accounting and auditing issues
  • Provide insightful feedback on financial statements and prepare other client deliverables such as board communications, deficiency letters, management letters, etc.
  • Supervise associates and seniors on engagement teams and function as an in-charge, monitoring and reporting regarding productivity and adherence to work plan and budget
  • Anticipate and address client concerns and escalate issues as they arise
  • Interact with clients to help ensure the information flow from client to audit team and vice versa is efficient
  • Identify and communicate significant accounting and auditing matters to manager/senior manager and partner on engagement
  • Identify performance improvement opportunities for team members
  • Understand client and industry issues, and recognize opportunities for RSM to assist the client in increasing level and types of services
  • Manage time appropriately across multiple projects
  • Keep abreast of industry developments by reading trade publications and other relevant thought leadership
  • Ensure professional development through ongoing education
  • Willingness to travel 25% of the year, depending on your clients


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or other discipline from an accredited University.
  • Active CPA license or demonstrated progress toward CPA licensure in province of residence.
  • 4+ years of recent assurance experience within a public accounting environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP, CASs or other relevant regulatory requirements, with the ability to apply relevant accounting and auditing standards.
  • Understanding of compilation, review, audit, and tax services.
  • Experience leading portions of audit engagements from planning through completion, including reviewing workpapers, and managing workflow across multiple engagements.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop staff, including coaching team members, reviewing work, and providing performance feedback.
  • Proven ability to manage client communication and expectations, including escalating issues and supporting resolution throughout the engagement cycle.
  • Experience overseeing substantive testing, analytical procedures, and control testing, including documentation and evaluation of results.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and effectively with firm personnel and clients in person, by telephone, and through electronic or written means.
  • Effective project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, tasks, and projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy and quality of work in accordance with performance expectations, firm, and client standards.
  • Ability to work effectively in a professional office environment and, as required by the role, at client sites, including the ability to sit for extended periods of time and work at a computer and other standard office equipment.
  • Ability to work extended and/or non standard hours during peak periods or as necessary to meet client, project, or firm business needs.
  • Ability to maintain consistent, onsite presence during core business hours including the ability to regularly report to a firm office location and travel to client sites as required, including access to reliable transportation.

The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $67,500 - $116,100

Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
