Assurance Manager, Private CompanyWhat You'll DoReady to lead high-quality audit engagements for a diverse portfolio of privately held businesses?
As an Assurance Manager in our Private Company practice, you'll play a key leadership role delivering audit and assurance services to clients across manufacturing, automotive, distribution, real estate & construction, healthcare, and professional services. You'll oversee engagement execution from planning through completion, build strong client relationships, and lead high-performing teams, working closely with engagement Partners to align on expectations and ensure deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are consistently met.
Engagement Management and Delivery- Assume full responsibility for planning, supervising, and completing multiple audit engagements simultaneously
- Monitor project budgets, manage workflow, and ensure timely and efficient execution under tight deadlines
- Review workpapers and financial statements to ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to professional standards
Client Experience- Develop a strong understanding of clients' operations, industry dynamics, and business objectives
- Routinely engage with clients to understand emerging needs, concerns, and strategic priorities
- Recognize opportunities to introduce additional services or innovative solutions that add value to the client relationship
Team Leadership- Lead, mentor, and develop audit Seniors and Staff, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment
- Delegate responsibilities effectively while maintaining accountability for engagement quality and deadlines
- Provide ongoing coaching and real-time feedback to support technical skill development and career progression
Strategic and Business Development Support- Identify ways to improve audit processes and enhance overall engagement efficiency
- Support Partners in expanding relationships within existing client accounts
- Contribute to internal initiatives focused on innovation, quality, and continuous improvement
Who You AreQualifications- 4-6+ years of progressive audit experience in public accounting
- Currently performing at the Manager level
- CPA license required
- Experience leading audit engagements within one or more private company industries, including manufacturing, automotive, distribution, real estate & construction, healthcare, or professional services
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and auditing standards
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet restrictive deadlines
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and client service skills
- Proven ability to build strong relationships internally and externally
Preferred Experience- Experience in a national or Big 4 public accounting firm
- Exposure to multiple private company industries beyond a single core specialty
- Experience mentoring and developing Staff and Senior-level professionals
Estimated Base Range: Estimated Salary Range: $85,000 - 125,000*
