Job Description

Job Summary:
Manages project accounting activities within a business unit while supporting the execution of day-to-day project accounting responsibilities. Ensures accurate accounting, timely financial reporting, and adherence to organizational policies across assigned projects. Supports project financial health by monitoring budgets, costs, and billings and providing financial information to project teams. Guides project accounting practices within the business unit while maintaining direct involvement in project-level financial management. Drives process improvement initiatives and supports the implementation of changes to enhance consistency and efficiency in project accounting practices. Contributes to consistent financial processes and informed decision-making through accurate analysis and collaboration with project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
Manages and coordinates project accounting activities within the business unit while maintaining responsibility for project-level accounting tasks and leading, managing, and developing project accounting individuals with guidance to support performance and development.
Processes and reviews project-related owner invoices, project costs, and owner and trade payments to ensure timely and accurate financial transactions.
Reviews project financial records, including budgets, costs, commitments, and billings, to maintain financial accuracy and alignment with approved project budgets.
Prepares and reviews project financial reports, forecasts, and variance analysis to support project teams and business unit leadership.
Collaborates with project managers and cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and maintain accurate project financial information.
Ensures compliance with internal accounting policies, financial controls, and applicable accounting standards across project financial activities.
Supports the development and coordination of project accounting individuals within the business unit while providing guidance on project accounting processes and practices.

Education Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience preferred.

Work Experience:
5–7 years of experience in project accounting, financial management, or a related field preferred.
1–2 years of experience coordinating work or leading project accounting activities preferred.

Certifications and Licenses:
Certified Construction Industry Financial Professionals (CCIFP) certification preferred.

Anticipated starting pay range:

$125,000.00- $155,000.00
