Full Job Description
The Opportunity:

Hamilton Lane is seeking an Associate Product Manager to join the Innovation Team and help shape the firm's technology roadmap across Operations and other internal functions. Reporting to the Co-Head of Product, this role will partner with business leaders-primarily across Operations-to identify technology needs, define practical solutions, and improve how work gets done.

The Associate Product Manager will serve as a product owner and strategic partner from discovery through implementation and go-live. The role will partner with team leaders to evaluate buy-versus-build options, align stakeholders, shape roadmaps, coordinate delivery, champion adoption, and own the ongoing performance of assigned platforms and internally built applications.

Initial priorities will include partnering with HR and Finance leaders to develop and champion a Workday roadmap, serving as Product Manager for internally built applications, and scoping and prioritizing technology needs across HL Operations over one-year and three-year planning horizons.

Your responsibilities will be to:
  • Build trusted partnerships with Operations, HR, and Finance leaders and subject-matter experts to understand business objectives, process challenges, user needs, and desired outcomes.
  • Translate business needs into product opportunities, requirements, success measures, prioritized backlogs, and multi-year roadmaps for assigned platforms, applications, and capabilities.
  • Prioritize initiatives and prepare recommendations for leadership and governance forums based on value, user impact, complexity, risk, cost, dependencies, and readiness.
  • Lead buy-versus-build evaluations, including vendor discussions, demonstrations, proofs of concept, and analysis of requirements, integrations, scalability, security, data, total cost of ownership, and time to value.
  • Serve as the accountable Product Manager and product owner for internally built applications and assigned enterprise platforms, maintaining knowledge of capabilities, integrations, data flows, controls, and key user groups.
  • Guide products from concept through design, development or configuration, testing, implementation, go-live, and post-launch improvement while managing scope, milestones, acceptance criteria, dependencies, risks, and decisions.
  • Coordinate cross-functional delivery, user acceptance testing, readiness, training, communications, change management, and control-function engagement; monitor product health, adoption, service quality, user satisfaction, and business outcomes.

Your background will include:

Must-haves:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, information technology, analytics, or a related field, with 3-5 years of relevant product, business analysis, transformation, or implementation experience.
  • Proven ability to translate business needs into clear requirements, roadmaps, prioritized backlogs, and executable delivery plans.
  • Demonstrated ownership of cross-functional initiatives from discovery through implementation, go-live, adoption, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience evaluating solution alternatives-including buy-versus-build decisions-and presenting practical recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, including experience with UAT, process documentation, training, change management, dependencies, and competing priorities.

Nice-to-haves:
  • Experience in financial services or another regulated, operationally complex environment.
  • Experience with Workday, particularly HCM and/or Financial Management.
  • Experience managing internally built applications or serving as product owner for enterprise platforms.
  • Familiarity with integrations, data migration, workflow automation, and configurable technology solutions.
  • Experience developing multi-year technology roadmaps, business cases, or investment recommendations.

Travel Requirements:

  • Minimal travel outside of attending some conferences on occasion as needed.
