Role description:Arcadis is seeking an Associate Principal, Architect with deep expertise in Federal Healthcare project delivery and experience and passion for driving growth. The successful candidate will collaborate with other leaders to realize measurable growth of the business within the Federal Healthcare market in the United States and will actively lead the successful delivery of Federal Healthcare projects.
In this role, you will collaborate with a highly qualified team of healthcare architects, medical planners, and interior designers to deliver a diverse portfolio of Federal healthcare projects across the United States. You will play a key role in observing the Federal Healthcare market and identifying key opportunities, building and maintaining client relationships, developing and deploying a strategy for growth in this area of the business, and in the planning, design, and delivery of complex healthcare facilities while fostering strong client relationships and leading multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative and sustainable solutions.
This position offers the opportunity to work alongside collaborative teams throughout all stages of project development, from pre-positioning and pursuit, to planning and programming through construction administration. Candidates should possess extensive understanding of the Federal Healthcare market and experience in Federal healthcare planning, design, and project delivery, and be prepared to assume a leadership role focused on project excellence, client engagement, team development, and business growth.
Role accountabilities:- Serve as the Architectural Project Leader for the planning, design, and delivery of Federal healthcare projects through successful completion while supporting growth objectives of the Federal Healthcare Practice.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams through all phases of project development, from planning and programming through construction administration.
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk to ensure successful project outcomes and client satisfaction.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with Federal healthcare clients, agencies, and industry partners.
- Drive business development efforts, including client engagement, pursuit strategy, proposals, interviews, and strategic positioning.
- Identify and support opportunities within existing Federal contracts, IDIQ vehicles, and task order programs.
- Collaborate with architectural, engineering, and healthcare leaders across the organization to support practice growth and project excellence.
- Mentor, coach, and develop architects, designers, and technical staff while supporting resource planning and operational performance.
- Ensure compliance with Federal design standards, healthcare regulations, building codes, life safety requirements, and agency-specific criteria.
- Represent Arcadis at client meetings, industry events, and professional organizations while supporting the visibility and growth of the Federal Healthcare Practice.
Qualifications & Experience:- Licensed Architect (RA) in the United States with the ability to obtain additional state registrations as required.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
- 10-15+ years of architectural experience, including significant experience delivering Federal healthcare projects.
- Strong understanding of Federal healthcare design standards, project delivery methods, regulatory requirements, and healthcare operations.
- Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams and mentoring architects, designers, and technical staff.
- Strong business development skills with a demonstrated ability to build client relationships and support pursuit and growth strategies.
- Proficiency in Revit across all project phases and strong knowledge of construction documentation and construction administration.
- Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, problem-solving, and relationship-management skills.
- LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) preferred.
- U.S. citizenship is required for this position due to Federal project requirements.

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $180,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
