Salary Range: $135,000 - $200,000

Our Canadian operation, Canaccord Genuity Corp., is currently looking for an Associate, Financial Planning to join the MacInnes Group in our Oakville office. Led by William MacInnes, Senior Wealth Advisor and Portfolio Manager, the MacInnes Group focuses on supporting the wealth management needs of exceptionally accomplished entrepreneurs, private investors, and their families. This is a great opportunity for an Associate looking to grow and support a Wealth Management team in establishing and maintaining strong client relationships.


Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver customized, comprehensive wealth plans that integrate financial, investment, retirement, tax, risk management, and estate planning.
  • Provide strategic guidance on complex planning needs such as holding companies, stock options, individual pension plans, retirement compensation arrangements, charitable giving, and intergenerational wealth transfer.
  • Analyze clients’ unique tax profiles and incorporate advanced long-term tax planning strategies.
  • Present planning concepts and fee-based investment solutions confidently to clients and internal partners.
  • Maintain strong, ongoing client relationships within a team-based advisory structure.
  • Drive business growth by promoting holistic planning and fostering internal and external partnerships.
  • Embrace challenges proactively, seeking continuous learning and growth opportunities to enhance client outcomes.
  • Uphold high ethical standards with humility by remaining open to feedback and ongoing professional development.


Skills & Qualifications:

  • 4 to 7 years of financial planning, wealth management, and/or risk management experience.
  • Must hold or working towards Certified Financial Professional (CFP) designation.
  • Additional designations such as Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Family Enterprise Advisor (FEA), Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA), and/or Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEPA) are asset.
  • Insurance industry knowledge or LLQP certification is an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to network and cultivate strong partner relationships.
  • Demonstrated capacity to build trust and collaborate effectively within diverse teams.
  • Persistent and ambitious, with a commitment to high professional standards and meaningful goal achievement.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills: good working knowledge of MS Office programs.
  • Experience with Dataphile, Maximizer, Conquest and netx360 would be an asset.
