Associate Director, US Ethics & Compliance - Monitoring, Auditing & Investigations Role SummaryThe Associate Director, US Ethics & Compliance, leads core compliance risk programs in the U.S., with primary responsibility for risk-based monitoring, auditing, Corrective and preventive action, and related governance. This role provides strategic direction while managing a direct report who supports day-to-day execution across these activities and deliverables. The position owns and improves supporting systems, tools, and processes to drive consistency, efficiency, accountability, and sustainable remediation. The role also leads the intake, assessment, and resolution of Compliance investigations, ensuring concerns are appropriately reviewed, documented, escalated, and closed. This individual partners closely with business stakeholders, Compliance leadership, and, when applicable, global Ethics & Compliance colleagues to strengthen alignment and deliver effective compliance outcomes.
Primary Responsibilities- Develop and oversee risk-based Compliance monitoring and auditing plans aligned to laws, regulations, industry standards, policies, and business process requirements
- Lead monitoring and auditing execution, including strategy, prioritization, escalation support, and outcome review
- Manage the Monitoring and Auditing Manager supporting monitoring, auditing, CAPA, governance, tools, and related Compliance activities and deliverables
- Lead execution of CAPA program including tracking, governance, escalation, completion, and effectiveness considerations to support sustainable remediation and risk mitigation
- Execute Compliance investigations as needed, including timely completion, consistent quality, confidentiality, and appropriate stakeholder communication
- Business Owner of systems, tools, and workflows supporting investigations, monitoring, auditing, CAPA, and Compliance governance activities
- Drive process improvement across monitoring, auditing, CAPA, investigations, and related governance to increase consistency, efficiency, accountability, and impact
- Deliver leadership-ready status updates, metrics, trends, insights, and escalation materials for Compliance leadership, governance forums, and senior stakeholders
- Lead Compliance risk and operations initiatives, including project management, process improvement, automation, stakeholder coordination, and operational execution
- Partner with global Ethics & Compliance colleagues on monitoring, auditing, CAPA, investigations, systems, governance, collaboration, and alignment
Education and Required Skills- Bachelor's degree in related field required; advanced degree preferred
- 8 years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, healthcare compliance, legal, audit, risk management, or related regulated environment
- Strong knowledge of U.S. healthcare compliance requirements, industry standards, and risk-based monitoring, auditing, CAPA, remediation, transparency, anti-kickback, false claims, promotional compliance, privacy, and relevant industry codes
- Demonstrated experience leading or overseeing compliance monitoring, auditing, CAPA, governance, corrective action management, or related oversight programs
- Sound judgment, discretion, analytical rigor, and practical risk-based decision-making in complex or sensitive matters
- Strong cross-functional leadership, stakeholder influence, prioritization, and execution skills in a fast-paced, regulated business environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including leadership-ready updates, metrics, governance materials, and executive-level recommendations
Travel and Location- 15%-25% travel required
- Boston based hybrid role - minimum 2 days per week in office
Job DescriptionCandidate ProfileSalary RangeThe salary range for this role is $176,000 - $208,000. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. Employees in this position are also eligible for Short-Term and Long-Term incentive programs.
