Associate Director, US Equity Sales (US Long Only clients)

Global Banking & Markets provides a full range of investment banking, credit and risk management products and services relevant to the financing and strategic development needs of our clients. Our products include debt and equity financing, mergers & acquisitions, corporate banking, institutional equity sales, trading and research, fixed income products, derivatives, energy, foreign exchange and precious metals. We also cross-sell the full range of wholesale products and services offered by the Scotiabank Group including transaction banking and trade finance solutions.

Purpose:

The Associate Director, Equity Sales will contribute to the overall success of the U.S. Equities business in the U.S. based in New York, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. The incumbent will ensure all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. The goal is to participate and manage the creation of bespoke trading products within the US Equities Sales & Trading group. You will maintain and build our client platform in US research sales by working closely with our partners across equities, research, trading and ECM.

What You'll Do
  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
  • Leverage knowledge of all US research and trading products to identify client opportunities within the Equities franchise, resulting in increased revenues
  • Leverage Buy Side relationships to uncover new trading relationships. This would include exploring synergies across business areas within GBM and translating product knowledge on both new and existing lines of business
  • Collaborate with Equity Sales and Trading team members to develop other bespoke trading products; For example, EES, Options, Custom equity baskets and Reverse-Conversion facilitation, MLP Swaps
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct
  • Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment
