Job Description:
About the Role:As Associate Director - Strategic Insights, you will be part of a global team that leads strategic, long-term market forecasts for the chemical industry. This is a people manager role with management responsibilities over a small team of analysts. You will collaborate closely with chemical product experts worldwide to produce integrated long-term forecasts using advanced analytics and models, as well as related publications and consulting projects. The role is expected to expand with the continuing development of our applications and the creation of new commercial products, such as scenario capabilities, recycle modeling, and enhancements to our client website and user interface. You will report to the Vice President - Business Operations (Dow Jones Energy).
You Will:- Apply your technical understanding of the chemical industry to support long-term supply/demand forecast updates
- Translate forecast shifts into commercial insights for the world's leading chemical producers
- Manage data and content updates with global product experts and publication analyst team
- Ensure the timely delivery of commercial products to clients
- Serve as a technical liaison for clients subscribing to our long-term chemical market publications and data analytics services
- Assist with the development of new commercial products and enhancements of existing commercial products
- Contribute to related publications and consulting projects
- Stay abreast of global market and technology developments in the product area
- Manage a small team of analysts performing similar functions
You Have:- 10+ years9 petrochemical industry experience, including market intelligence and/or strategic planning
- Ability to identify and articulate core/essential issues within complex problems and deliver insights and solutions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially advanced knowledge of Excel (including VBA scripting)
- Prior people management and/or research publishing experience (a plus)
- Python knowledge and Power BI experience (a plus)
- Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Economics, related disciplines -OR - post-graduate academic work in a technical field (such as PhD or master's in data science) -OR - equivalent work experience
