Overview

The Associate Director, Paid Social is responsible for developing innovative social strategies to meet and exceed client business objectives and spearhead social programs. Works with media team to translate the client goals and objectives into actionable items. This role is responsible for leading a group of social media practitioners while fostering integration/communication across all departments and partner agencies.

The Associate Director will report to the Vice President and manage up to 3 direct reports.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the flawless execution of paid social media campaigns across Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, Reddit and Snapchat, ensuring all initiatives are delivered on time, within budget, and meet or exceed the performance goals while maintaining the highest standard of quality
  • Lead the development and presentation of comprehensive, data-driven performance media plans that align with client objectives and broader marketing initiatives
  • Ensure ongoing team delivery of account optimizations, recommendations/proposals, testing schedules and media analysis
  • Facilitate the development and documentation of best practices to improve operational efficiencies within the team and the group
  • Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with key clients, ensuring their needs and objectives are met or exceeded
  • Be well-attuned to client goals, market and needs, while keeping leadership informed of key opportunities, risks and business impacts
  • Effectively oversee day-to-day client communication, ensuring all team deliverables meet high client-facing standards
  • Identifies and drives innovative opportunities for account growth, including new platforms, tactics and technologies that align with client goals
  • Provide strategic direction and mentorship to junior team members, helping them develop their own strategic thinking
  • Lead the team in analyzing paid social performance data, extracting meaningful insights, and recommending actionable next steps. Ensures reporting is thorough and delivers value to clients
  • Drive team adoption of account management best practices through example setting, positive reinforcement and ongoing feedback
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure unified communication, streamlined processes and creative problem-solving towards client-focused solutions
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of performance media strategies, tools and industry trends, consistently applying this knowledge to drive client success
  • Provide thought leadership within the agency, contributing to internal knowledge sharing and development initiatives
  • Continuously seek out opportunities to enhance personal and team expertise, including adopting new technologies and methodologies

Qualifications

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications or equivalent field of study
  • 5+ years of social media experience in performance media; client side or agency preferred
  • 2+ years of demonstrated success in managing and leading a team of performance media specialists
  • Proven experience managing large-scale performance media campaigns; experience with social commerce campaigns a plus
  • Expert understanding of channel landscape, buying platforms and new / evolving product offerings
  • Experience with campaign management/ad serving technology (i.e. Double Click, DoubleVerify and social platforms: Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest & Snapchat)
  • Required PC proficiency and solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Demonstrated problem solving, organization, time management and project management skills
  • Ability to develop and implement comprehensive performance media strategies aligned with client goals
  • High attention to detail and the ability to move at an agile pace, capable of managing multiple campaigns and projects simultaneously
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with clients, colleagues, and vendors
  • Strong analytics, quantitative and problem-solving skills; ability to analyze raw data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to think on your feet, to be creative and talk knowledgeably about digital media and its implications on today's businesses
  • Ability to move fast, be bold and thrive in a dynamic, quickly changing environment
  • Interest in being a part of a start-up division with hands on approach to all phases of the media process

Compensation Range: USD $97,375.00 - USD $127,000.00/Annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
