Role: Associate Director - Finance (USA)

Employment Type: Full Time

Role Description:
This role requires you to own the entire finance function for Pixxel's US business. You will be the

primary finance contact for US government contracting relationships, drive the P&L and business

finance function in partnership with commercial teams, and build out the governance, treasury,

legal/contract, and compliance backbone needed for a fast-scaling company operating in a highly

regulated sector.

Responsibilities & Duties:

Business Finance and US Government Contracts
  • Work with the business teams to ensure profitability calculations across missions and projects.
  • Own financial strategy and management for contracts with USG entities (e.g., NRO, NASA, DoD, Space Force, and other agencies)
  • Ensure compliance with government contracting frameworks (FAR/DFARS, Cost Accounting Standards, incurred cost submissions) and support DCAA-related audits where applicable
  • Structure pricing, indirect rate models, and cost proposals for government bids

P&L, Audit and Due Diligence
  • Own the full P&L tracking, monitoring and reporting for the US business - revenue, cost, and profitability tracking across all lines
  • Ensuring compliance with US-GAAP and global consolidation
  • Lead statutory and internal audits, and manage relationships with external auditors
  • Drive financial due diligence processes for fundraising, M&A, or strategic partnerships
  • Work closely on the processes, policies and other Corporate Governance matters.
  • Manage tax returns and sales tax compliances across all states.

Compliance and Lega
  • Provide financial and commercial input on contracts with vendors, customers, and partners (MSAs, NDAs, SOWs)
  • Work closely with legal counsel on contract negotiation, risk assessment, and deal structuring
  • Maintain a contract repository and ensure commercial terms align with company policy and risk appetite
  • Work on Export control, FOCI compliances, and ensure the reportings are up to date.

Desirable Skills & Certifications:
  • Direct, hands-on experience with US government contracting - DoD, NRO, NASA, Space Force, is highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of US-GAAP, FAR/DFARS, Cost Accounting Standards, and government audit processes
  • Experience owning full P&L and business finance for a unit or entity
  • Experience with treasury management, banking relationships, and corporate governance
  • Prior experience in manufacturing, aerospace, defence, space, or deep-tech sectors
  • Experience working in or with a foreign-owned US entity, including export control (ITAR/EAR), FOCI-related compliance and cross-border transfer pricing.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across government, legal, investor, and internal business audiences

Candidate Acumen:
CPA/MBA Finance or equivalent with hands-on experience supporting DoD/NRO/NASA/Space Force contracts, government audits/DCAA, treasury and tax, and ITAR/EAR, FOCI and cross-border compliance, with the ability to partner with government, legal, commercial, and investor stakeholders.
