Who are you?

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Associate Director to join our growing Data Centres team, supporting the delivery of complex mission-critical construction projects and programs. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, client management, business development, and project delivery experience within large-scale construction environments.

While this position is posted in Toronto, we welcome applications from candidates across Canada. This role supports projects in Western Canada, including Edmonton, Regina, and Winnipeg. Candidates must be open to travel, rotational schedules, or temporary relocation based on project requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the growth and successful delivery of complex data centre and mission-critical construction programs across the region.
  • Lead and maintain strong client relationships while supporting business development, pursuits, and strategic growth opportunities within the data centre sector.
  • Provide leadership and oversight across multiple projects and project teams, ensuring successful delivery against client objectives, commercial targets, schedules, and quality expectations.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership, project teams, consultants, contractors, and client stakeholders across all phases of project delivery.
  • Support project governance activities including financial management, forecasting, staffing, reporting, and risk management.
  • Mentor and support project management staff through coaching, leadership, and professional development.
  • Contribute to proposals, presentations, client interviews, and market engagement activities to support continued business growth.
  • Promote collaboration, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across project delivery teams.
  • Support strategic planning and resource allocation across multiple concurrent projects and client accounts.
  • SOX control responsibilities may form part of this role and are to be adhered to where applicable.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, project management, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience. Advanced degree or PMP certification is considered an asset.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience within construction, mission-critical, data centre, or large-scale infrastructure project environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading major construction projects or programs, including oversight of multidisciplinary teams, project delivery, commercial management, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Strong client relationship management and business development experience, including supporting pursuits, proposals, and strategic growth opportunities.
  • Strong understanding of the full construction project lifecycle, project governance, financial management, risk management, and operational delivery.
  • Experience leading and mentoring project management teams within fast-paced consulting or project delivery environments.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.

The base salary range for this full-time role is $135,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package. Please note Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on candidate's experience and qualifications.
