Associate Director, Commercial Operations

Mississauga, hybrid eligible 3 days/week on site

The Associate Director will have a focus on Customer Centricity & Commercial Analytics Enablement and will be accountable for the systems, tools and insights that make Gilead Canada a more customer-centric organization. The role leads a team of three specialists and sets the vision across three pillars: driving affiliate-wide adoption and effective use of G360 (Veeva CRM); delivering up-to-date, reliable and usable Tableau dashboards on the ICF platform; and providing strategic oversight on the standardization of AI tools - including Databricks Genie and related AI models - that leverage our data to generate timely insights. The role partners closely with Business Units, Marketing, Market Access, GDSI, IT and Global Commercial Operations.

Essential Duties and Job Functions:
  • Lead and develop a team of three specialists (G360/BPO, Tableau/Dashboards, and AI Insights Standardization), setting clear objectives, backlogs and priorities aligned to affiliate strategy
  • Own the affiliate customer-centricity roadmap, integrating interaction data, account-centric (xKAM) and reporting into a cohesive backbone for field execution
  • Lead the Incentive Compensation Plan for the Canadian Affiliate, working with leadership to ensure plans drive sales execution, meet Canadian legal requirements and are aligned to the affiliate goals. Ensure IC plans are aligned to Canadian pharmaceutical company norms.
  • Champion enhanced G360 adoption and data quality across the affiliate; ensure readiness for the 2027 G360 upgrade and Veeva Align through global (ROW) standardization.
  • Support potential launch initiatives and ongoing business requirements through the analysis of sales force sizing, HCP coverage, overlap with existing sales teams, etc. to enable successful product launches.
  • Lead the Gilead Canada pre and post launch evaluations with Canadian Leadership.
  • Establish governance and standards for AI tooling that uses our data, ensuring consistency, security (Unity Catalog persona-based access), auditability and a single source of truth for KPIs.
  • Enhance sales business planning by working closely with internal stakeholders on templates and aligning templates to BPOA strategies. Ensure that measurements are in place to ensure execution is enabled.
  • Partner with GDSI, IT and Global Commercial Operations to expand use of ICF Data Products and align local practices to enterprise data and AI governance policy.
  • Communicate insights and recommendations to senior management; influence strategic direction and secure resourcing for capability investments.
  • Measure and report on adoption, usability, time-to-insight and engagement outcomes; continuously improve ways of working and reduce manual effort/rework.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
  • 10+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, economics, data/analytics or a related field; advanced degree an asset.
  • Demonstrated leadership of analytics, CRM/commercial operations or data capabilities, ideally within pharmaceutical/biotech.
  • Strong understanding of CRM (Veeva or Salesforce), BI platforms (Tableau), modern data platforms (Databricks/ICF) and AI/GenAI concepts.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead cross-functional change management.
  • Excellent communication, prioritization and vendor/stakeholder management skills.
  • A self-starter with high motivation, proactive problem-solving skills and thrives in complex and ambiguous situations
  • Ability to manage complex projects independently, from planning through execution, with strong organisational and time management skills.
