Full Job Description
Short DescriptionAssumes responsibility and accountability for the direction, implementation and evaluation of patient care services within the assigned unit at the direction of the Clinical Director and in his/her absence. This role is broad in scope and requires the ability to work independently and apply a high degree of judgment. Assigns work load and assumes responsibility for the operational functioning of the department. Ensures the delivery of patient care through the coordination of customer services and the leadership and management of the nursing unit at the direction of the Clinical Director. Assists the Clinical Director in coordinating interdepartmental and ancillary activities to ensure quality, cost-effective patient care. Assists the Clinical Manager in directing the preparation and maintenance of patient’s clinical record, including nursing and medical treatments and related services provided by the Registered Nurse. Assists the Clinical Director in leading the patient care team to meet the needs of the customers and to achieve departmental objectives. Assists the Clinical Director in ensuring that the staff participates in educational activities and the evaluation process to enhance their personal growth and development. Acting as a liaison between nursing and medical staff, serving as a problem-solver and mediator for positive change; develops and maintains effective intra and interdepartmental relationships. Pavilion 9 is a 30-bed cardiac medical/surgical and cardiac intermediate unit. Pavilion 9 staff care for complex cardiac patients including cardiac surgery patients, structural heart (TAVR), cardiac catheterization/coronary angioplasty, heart failure and other various cardiac processes.

 

The Pavilion 9 nurses receive specialized training to care for our cardiac surgery populations

Experience Required

A minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with 1 year of demonstrated leadership abilities.

 

Requires strong planning skills and a solid understanding of Patient and Family Centered Care.

 

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.

Education Requirements

Graduate from an NLN accredited school of nursing.  Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required

License/Certification Requirements

Current New Jersey license as a Registered Nurse, BLS certification. 

 

 

Certain specialties may require advanced certification (i.e. ACLS, NRP, PALS).
