Full Job Description
MG+M The Law Firm (MG+M) has an immediate opening for an Associate Attorney to support the toxic tort practice in our Chicago office. MG+M is a nationally renowned litigation firm focused on complex civil matters. Our work is diverse but concentrated in toxic tort, complex product liability, local government, general liability, and commercial litigation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Independently manage a litigation caseload from case intake through resolution, including case assessment and strategy development
Take and defend depositions, including lead examination of plaintiffs and expert witnesses
Prepare witnesses for deposition and trial
Review and analyze incoming discovery requests, and draft discovery requests and responses
Draft and argue pleadings and motions, including dispositive and evidentiary motions
Prepare for and support trial, including exhibit and witness preparation, motions in limine, and trial briefs
Communicate regularly with clients on case status, strategy, and developments
Collaborate with partners and colleagues across the firm's offices to share strategy and best practices
Maintain accurate, timely time records
Candidate Qualifications and Personal Attributes
Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
Admitted to practice in Illinois with Missouri preferred
