Assistant Project ManagerJob SummaryThe Assistant Project Manager is a pivotal role in managing and executing high-value heavy-highway and heavy-civil construction projects. This position involves significant responsibilities in project coordination, team supervision, financial management, and compliance, along with proficient use of specialized construction management software.
- Coordinate and oversee project planning and execution, using Oracle P6 Scheduling Software for schedule management.
- Ensure project milestones and goals are achieved within the set timelines and budgets.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project teams, stakeholders, and clients.
- Utilize Microsoft Office Applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, SharePoint, OneDrive) for creating presentations, reports, and effective information sharing.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of comprehensive project documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Employ Microsoft Power BI for advanced reporting, data analysis, and progress tracking.
- Actively engage with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders, ensuring their needs and expectations are effectively managed and addressed.
- Provide regular project updates and maintain transparent communication channels.
- Assist in managing project budgets, utilizing Excel and Viewpoint Vista ERP System for financial tracking and reporting.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and contribute to budgetary control and financial optimization.
- Ensure all project activities comply with quality standards, safety regulations, and contractual obligations.
- Use Autodesk AutoCAD or Bentley MicroStation for design verification and quality assurance.
- Assist in identifying and mitigating project risks, developing effective solutions to challenges encountered during project execution.
- Implement and oversee risk management strategies and contingency plans.
- Support in leading and developing the project team, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
- Contribute to team training and skill development initiatives.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in heavy-highway or heavy-civil construction projects.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Power BI), Oracle P6 Scheduling Software, and Autodesk AutoCAD or Bentley MicroStation.
- Strong leadership, financial management, and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in both a team setting and independently.
Physical Demands- Capability to work in diverse field conditions and to navigate construction sites.
- Occasional lifting of materials and equipment may be required.
