Assistant Professor of Mathematics and Statistics, Middlebury College, MIDDLEBURY, VT. The Department of Mathematics and Statistics invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in Mathematics and Statistics to begin in Fall 2027. A Ph.D. in Mathematics or a closely related field should normally be in hand by time of appointment.
The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Middlebury is a thriving program that supports majors in mathematics, applied mathematics, and statistics. The department seeks a candidate at the intersection of mathematics, applied mathematics, and statistics who can teach core courses and create cross-disciplinary electives that appeal to students across our programs. The successful candidate will advise, mentor, and teach courses at all levels. In particular, we seek candidates who can contribute to our introductory sequences in both calculus and statistics. Candidates who demonstrate a capacity to include undergraduates in their research are especially encouraged to apply.
As part of a full teaching load, the candidate will also regularly contribute to Middlebury's First Year Seminar Program and Winter Term course offerings, as described in our teaching load guidelines. All faculty at Middlebury are also expected to contribute to service to the College including, but not limited to, committee membership and serving as Director or Chair of a Program or Department when asked.
This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, salaried position with a hiring range of $91,462 - $103,138 per year.
