ResponsibilitiesMV Transportation is seeking an
Assistant Maintenance Manager to assist the Maintenance Manager with management of the day-to-day maintenance aspects of the operation of CNG and propane vehicles. The Assistant Maintenance Manager's responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, assisting the Maintenance Manager with the oversight of maintenance personnel, the organization of the maintenance yard and various administrative duties. The Assistant Maintenance Manager shall be responsible for supervising the maintenance operation during shifts when the Maintenance Manager is not at the shop.
• Assist in the day-to-day supervision of maintenance operations and maintenance personnel.
• Support the implementation of the CONTRACTOR's preventive maintenance and vehicle repair programs in accordance with client standards and the
requirements of this Agreement.
• Assist in monitoring vehicle availability, maintenance productivity, work quality, and fleet reliability.
• Help ensure work orders, inspection records, and maintenance documentation are complete, accurate, and maintained in accordance with the requirements of this Agreement.
• Assist in supervising maintenance personnel, coordinating work assignments, and supporting employee training and development.
• Assist in monitoring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations, environmental requirements, and client maintenance procedures.
• Coordinate with the Maintenance Manager regarding vehicle availability, major repairs, warranty work, parts availability, and operational priorities.
• Attend meetings, presentations, and other events as requested by client.
• Be available during normal business hours and remain reachable outside normal business hours for emergencies through client-approved communication
methods.
QualificationsTalent Requirements:- A minimum of three (3) years of journey-level mechanic experience with strong technical knowledge of gasoline engines, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and maintenance management software applications.
- A minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience overseeing a maintenance operation with twenty (20) or more mechanics and demonstrated managerial and training abilities.
- A valid California Class A, B, or C driver's license, as appropriate, a valid medical certificate, and any other licenses or certifications required by applicable federal, state, and local regulations to operate vehicles assigned under this Agreement.
- An associate degree or higher in a related field, or equivalent experience acceptable to client. Additional relevant experience may be substituted for
the associate degree requirement. - Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) automotive and/or truck certifications, preferably ASE Master Certification.
- Prior experience in public transit vehicle maintenance.
- Must be CDL licensed.
- Strong supervisory experience; must be able to supervise 30+ personnel.
- Must have the ability to track and control parts inventories, vendors and suppliers.
- Must be able to properly prioritize, implement and manage work schedules, projects and assignments.
- Must have the ability to manage the financial/accounting aspects of a fleet maintenance operation.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff in written and oral formats.
- Must have computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets and Microsoft Outlook.
- Must have technical competence with light/medium/Heavy duty vehicle repair and preventive maintenance.
- Must display initiative, professionalism, candor and tact at all times.
- Must have a minimum of three (3) years fleet/vehicle maintenance supervision experience.
Starting salary range: $83,220-$112,591
