Qualifications

• Licensed and registered professional nurse in New York State.
• Master's in Nursing Administration, Education, Clinical Specialty, or equivalent field + 5 years of nursing experience (3 in a supervisory role) OR Baccalaureate in Nursing + 6 years of experience (4 in a supervisory role).
• Equivalent combination of education and experience considered, but licensing as a NY professional nurse is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Develop nursing service policies, objectives, and standards.
• Prepare budgets for personnel, supplies, and equipment.
• Create and oversee patient care administrative procedures.
• Plan and evaluate nursing service in a clinical division or home health agency.
• Conduct nursing education program planning and organization.
• Manage and coordinate nursing service during the evening and night shifts.
• Direct the activities of the Supervisor of Nurses.
• Compile and report on administrative staff and patient management matters.
• Implement and oversee a nursing quality assurance program.
• Lead regular staff meetings and evaluate nursing services through direct observation and chart review.
